Briswife15 got a reaction from SargentSkittles in Preparing for surgery, very scared. Tips??
Yeah, I'm with you! My surgery is on March 27th, and it is a big deal!! Ive also had a lot of surgeries in my life. Im sorry your last surgery was so complicated. Believe it or not, bariatric surgery is really, really safe these days, and surgons do a lot of them. Nonetheless it is natural to worry a little bit. I really think all will go great for you. You've got this!!

Briswife15 got a reaction from GreenTealael in Sleeve or Bypass?
Hi! You didn't make any mistakes! There are quite a few threads on here about choosing between sleeve and gastric bypass. Here's one - https://www.bariatricpal.com/applications/tapatalk/index.php?/topic/423101-How’d-you-Choose?-Sleeve-v.s.-Bypass?
I chose bypass because I have reflux and my surgeon believes that the sleeve usually makes it worse. I am a little scared about having my intestines rerouted, but I need to do this, and I believe the bypass is best for me. Do your research, and I wish you all the best.

Oh, ((hugs)). Don't feel stupid. You know your body, and know if something isn't right. Besides it has been a week and you're still struggling.

Briswife15 got a reaction from GreenTealael in Fighting addictions pre-op/post-op
Azhiker, what great advice! I'm a very "addictive " person, and could use to eliminate caffeine, sugar, snacky foods, etc. in the 5 weeks til my surgery. I had been just eating what I want, but more discipline is needed! Thanks for positng this.

Briswife15 got a reaction from NotActive1234 in How’d you Choose? Sleeve v.s. Bypass?
My doctor wouldn't do the sleeve on me because I have reflux disease not well controlled by meds. He said the sleeve would make the reflux worse. In addition, i preferred the bypass because although it seems more drastic, i think for me it will be more effective. Having bypass 3/27/19.
