  1. Thanks, FluffyChix. I'm 145 and have lost 101 pounds. I feel tertific, actually! I'm really pleased with my weight loss. And think I look pretty good! If I leveled out at this weight it wouldn't be the end of the world. But I agree with you that 135 would be a good weight on me. I still have quite a fat flabby belly!! Lol! 2. Thanks. All! I hit "healthy weight" on the BMI chart this morning and can't believe it! Went from morbidly obese. Will see what bari ream says next Monday. I think I'd be happy at 135. Enjoying your responses and support. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Today is my 1 year Surgiversary!!!

You look healthy, happy, and beautiful! Well done and happy surgiversary! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. No, I didn't say that to her. I didn't talk about it actually. She asked how much I weighed and when I told her 147 she said it was too low. Go figure. She never approved of my having the surgery, but in her defense, she doesn't have much experience with bariatric patients. She's supportive, just concerned. 5. Good luck with your decision, and Congratulations on your weight loss! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

  7. Thanks for the input, advice and support everyone! I love that I can come here and get caring replies! I'm going to be doing some serious soul searching. I'll post after I meet with Bariatric team about their opinions. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. Thank you, 2Bsmaller18! I appreciate your thoughtful reply. Im not beating myself up, but will feel like a failure if I don't lose the last 2 pounds to make it to a "healthy " weight. I didn't come this far to still be "overweight "! I would be fine at 130 or 135. I agree that I've got lots of loose skin which will add some pounds, so 120 is probably not achievable! My weight loss has really slowed down to about a pound a week, if that. From the early days of losing 1/2 pound a day!! I tend to plateau for 4 weeks, then lose a few pounds, then stay there another 4 weeks. Thanks for your support![emoji4] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

  10. I'm waiting to hear from my doctor, but was wondering if anyone has has very high serum levels of vitamin B12 and Folate, and if that might mean my body is not absorbing tham? Reading on the Internet there are some scary reasons for high B12, but I'm hoping it is circulating in my blood because my body can't utilize it. Thank you! 11. Thank you, catwoman! I appreciate your reply. I had thought to stop the extra B12 completely, but your advice is the same as bariatric nurse... cut back, but don't eliminate the extra B12. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. Great idea! I already have B12 in my bariatric multi, so will stop the extra B12 supplement for a month or two and retest! [emoji4] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. Well, now I'm confused because my GP says it is indicative of a deficiency, yet the bariatric nurse says to cut back on the B12! The Internet is no help either. I don't know who to believe and bariatric nurse said to go to GP for follow up anf management. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. Great news! Congratulations and good luck! Im 7.5 months post bypass. Best thing I've ever done! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. Thanks! My GP says my levels are so high, 2000, because I have deficiencies. Im going to ask bari surgeon if I need B12 injections because it's obvious my body is not absorbing it. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. So, since around month 5 post bypass my blood pressure, the upper number, has been hovering around 100. Sometimes under. I get lightheaded when I stand up from sitting or lying down. But, I went to my doctor and they checked my bp lying down, sitting, and standing, and it didn't change. Stays around 100/70. I know we're not doctors here, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?? Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. What kind of high levels are you talking about? My Folate was off the charts, too. I'll wait and see how concerned they are. My understanding is that excess B12 is excreted in the urine, and that high B12 is not very common. Hoping you're right! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Gastric Bypass complications

I think you should be asking about gastric bypass successes, and focus on the positive! If you adk about complications you're going to hear from the minority, myself included. I hesitate to tell you, but just 5 weeks out from bypass I developed pain when drinking or eating, and couldn't keep anything down. It felt like I had eaten a whole pizza! Turns out I had the most severe stricture the surgeon had ever seen, and lots of ulcers. It took months. And 6 dilations to fix the problem. I'm 8 months post bypass now. And am fine. I was totally unprepared for this. But had a great attitude, and just went with the flow. It's really the only thing you can do when faced with a setback. Now, I'm praying you don't have any complications at all. I was a very rare case!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Lightheaded. Not orthostatic hypotension

Hi. Daisyjayne. No, they just checked hemoglobin, I think. I have had low ferritin stores before, so maybe you're right! Bariatric team checking that in late December. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Lightheaded. Not orthostatic hypotension

Thanks, ValerieinMexico. I did have my iron checked, and I'm not anemic. All basic bloodwork was normal, but I'm having my bariatric team run tests for vitamin and protein levels next week, along with some other tests. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Lightheaded. Not orthostatic hypotension

Thank you both for your replies! I'm glad to know I'm not alone in this!! It is worse when I exercise, so my personal Trainer has told me to stop for a little while why the docs try to figure out if anything is going on. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  25. Have you tried generic Imodium? Just 1/2 a tablet usually works for me, but honestly, with the iron in my vitamins, I have the opposite problem! Hope you feel better soon. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
