I had gastric bypass, but all of your points translate to us as well. Can't agree with you more, and I'm only 10mos out from my surgery. Congrats on your success! And YES, everyone should spend some time really dissecting the what/when/why they go to food as a comfort or a compensator. It's not the most comfortable thing in the world, but will be the biggest reason why you have long term success. I also found a new passion in doing active things that I never thought my body could do - it's incredibly empowering to see your body accomplish things you never thought it could do. It definitely drives me to see just what I can get my body to do lol

Highest recorded weight 271.5 in April 2016 but I was probably about 290 a year earlier. I'm 5'3" tall and was 55 at time of surgery. I was sleeved

That would be 115 pounds. I haven't had my plastics done yet, but that will likely be about another 10 pounds. My body fat right now is around 31%. I'm working on getting it to 28%.
My team has asked me to speak with the support groups as a success story. I've lost a grown person.
Here's a photo of me from the other day (before going to the gym - so hair's a mess and no makeup) standing in one leg of a pair of shorts I used to wear. I went from a size 24 to a size 6.

Everything and Anything is possible! Even after surgery, stay away from sugars. Aim for 6g or less for each sitting. Weight training helps.

Surgery gastric sleeve weight (2-17-17): 325lb
Tummy Tuck on 12-22-2017 and ~ 10lb of excess skin removed
Weight at one year (3-17-18): 175lb
Total weight loss: 175lb

I can say this because I'm 72 and on my way to a soon RnY,bypass, not worried, not frightened, because I have lived a long time, would have better had I been thinner. Not going to get bogged down in the Coulda- Woulda -Shoulda's of life, what didn't kill me made me stronger and I'm strong enough to go for this. None of us know how many more years we will be granted but it is my intention to live them stronger fitter and thinner than I am today. Join me on this journey ladies, the best is yet to be! 🌈😝

We'll Celebrate your victories, sympathize with your trials and sustain you all along the Weight loss journey. To be technical I'm a missionary from the RnY side of life but this is how I look at things. You sleevers may be Army, my bypassers may be Navy but we are all allies in the Weight Loss Wars and we all sustain each other. And to use a trite phrase "Some of My Best Friends are Sleevers"!😝

As of this morning I'm literally 50% of my starting weight. From 470 in November 2016 to 235 lbs this morning and I'm still losing!

Hi! New to the site (glad I found it). I just had surgery yesterday 4/24/18. Other than being sore, I'm not doing bad but can't handle the pain meds, so tylenol it is. But I'm having I guess spasms. they come and go at all hours. I thought it may be gas still in my stomach but my doctor said it wasn't. Has anyone else had this happen?
