  1. I had surgery on Thursday. My doctor made us do no more that 1oz. in 15 minutes the day of, but know I dont know how much I can drink. I feel kinda full, but I think it may be gas. I am just soooo afraid to vomit, I dont want to overdo it. But I also frrl like I am going to get dehydrated if I dont get something in me. So, my question is, After two days, how much could you drink at one time? Could you handle thin grits or mashed potatos? Someone please help!! Its Saturday so there is nobody at my Dr.s office!! Thanks!!
  2. Does any of the gas-x meds work for the horrible post op gas?? Someone please answer, because Im going to send my husband to get some for me if it does. This stuff is horrible!!

  8. I am 27 years old, scheduled for banding on May 8th. I have heard these stories about people having problems!! It scares me to death. Because of our age are we less likley to have these problems. How many of you have been problem free, and if nor what kind of problems did you have. Did you lose weight fast or slow? I was also wondering about the extra skin thing. I have heard that its not as bad if you are young. Im not that big either, Im 5'10 and 280. I just wanted to ask people my age and see what kind of experiance they had!! Thanks:tt2:
  9. Thanks!! I am glad I have people who havent had problems!! I just want to be around for my husband and my little angel. I am only 27 and 80lbs overweight. But I have diabetes, and cancer runs in my family. My daddy dies at 50 from kidney cancer than they think may be related to diabetes. This is my only option!! It just freaked me out for a minute!! But im good now!! Thank you guys. I look foward to my journey, with you guys here to talk to!!
  10. Wow!!! I am in tears here!! I know the risk involved. I came here to get support and This is the first thing that I read. Is there anyone out there that hasnt had any problems at all. My Dr. says he has only had 2 people in the five years that he has been doing this that have even had a slip. This is freaking me out. I am scheduled to be banded on May 8th. This is the first time that I have even had a dought that this wasnt right for me. I have researched this surgery for more than a year, and I have never heard of these kind of complications. Where do you find out about this stuff. What kind of Dr. told you that it would be taken off the market in 10 years. I am not by any means judging you or anything, I just know how upset you are if this has happened to you. I just want to know if this is common. Once again, I have never heard anything like this!!!
  11. Does anyone know the actual statistics?? How many people have slippages?? Erosions?? My surgeon said he had only had 2 in the 5 years that he had been doing Lap band!! Does that sound right??
  12. Hi!! I am from Anniston in east Alabama. I am getting banded on May 8 at Trinity medical center in birmingham. There are several others in B-ham that do the surgery, but this is where I had my son and it is a great place. My surgeon is Dr. Tuoliatos, he is with Advanced Surgeons. You can search it on google. I hope this helps you!!
