2 questions - sweating and burping
I swear, the worst thing they could do was to tell me to drink more slowly. It made me think about it all the time and the more I thought about it, the worse I got about swallowing air! Like I haven't been swallowing my whole life! Thinking about it made it so challenging!

When "Family" doesn't understand
I'm so sorry that this is so difficult for you. It's not easy under the best of circumstances. My prior experience is telling me that whatever problem you're having, he can play his trump card (mental issues) and make it all about his needs again. Is there anyone else close by that you can turn to for support? Are there support group meetings, a pastor at church? A friendly ear on-line is fine, but sometimes you just need a real-life hug. I hope it gets better for you soon. ((hug))

1wk Post Op- First Complication
Not particularly comfortable, but ice packs for 10-15 minutes at a time might help with the inflammation, too.

Can you take benadryl? It may help.

Weight gain over night
We must be kindred spirits. I'm on lasix now. They're hoping I'll go down around 30 pounds, total. Glad it worked for you!

Back Pain
I just keep a heating pad on my back at work. Unfortunately, my surgery was 3 months ago now.

Enough lurking, time to share my story.
So sorry that you're going through this. I hope they figure out the problem and fix it soon. Congrats on your weight loss so far. You're definitely doing this the "hard" way, though. ((hugs))

I week after sleeve surgery, doing great!
Congrats on your super recovery! Just curious, I know a stone is 14lb. But how do you do the fractional stones? i.e. is it 14.4 stone or 14 stone, 3 pounds, 14 stone, 8 pebbles? (Just kidding)

2 questions - sweating and burping
Don't know about the sweating, so I can't help you there. The bubbling/gurgling is normal. Your stomach is very swollen so there's very little room for the liquid to go through to your intestines and it trickles down slowly. You can try drinking slower, but it may not help. Burp if you can (I can't) and just tolerate it until the swelling goes down.

Bingeing on soft foods
Slider foods scare the cr*p out of me. I'm also worried that they will turn into my new "cheat". This is especially tempting since I'm still not able to process solid protein, so I'm pretty much on sliders 24/7. I do have an appointment with a therapist who specializes in eating disorders because I really want to make this work.

Did anyone have to do lovenox injections?
For anyone pre-op, this tip from my nurse: Let the alcohol that you used to sterilize the skin dry completely before you inject. It's the alcohol that stings.

Weightloss surgery won’t work for me
Best wishes for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!

Struggling
Relax! You've had major surgery with some complications. You are being pro-active and trying to get all your ducks in a row before you do anything too bad. It'll be ok. Don't dwell on the past; you can't change it anyway. Go back to your NUT's guidelines and log everything that goes into your mouth. When you want to cheat, call a friend, walk if it's not raining, do chair exercises. (https://www.workingmother.com/11-quick-chair-exercises-that-work-as-well-as-going-to-gym) There are also some on youtube. Hope this helps!

Anyone else have an issue with too much acid?
Sorry, this is pure misery. I feel for you! I tried to get off the precription-strength Prilosec after 1 month. I only made it 4 hours before I was begging the Dr. for another prescription. A week later I was back on 2x/day. In between, I chew Tums.

Help!
I'm so sorry about the loss of your grandmother ((hugs)) I agree with the others. Try and call your surgeons team first (I hope they have someone available 24/7.)
