Healthy Party Food Ideas

So I love to cook and my husband and I throw a get together every month with some friends. I love how supportive my husband is of my surgery. I always cook up some amazing food every time however as a twist I decided to use Pinterest to find healthy options. I want also had my friends cook up some healthy protein food to bring as their contributing food to the potluck. It became a game with everyone trying to make the most delicious healthy recipe. My best friend made a gluten free pasta made of chick peas and my other friend made lettuce wrap turkey greek yogurt tacos.

Aside from the fried cream cheese wontons (for my pregnant sister) upon her pleading I made all of the attached healthy dishes. I couldn't eat them as I am on puree foods still, however I also didn't have any cravings and just enjoyed watching everyone enjoy themselves. Everyone is now talking and being competitive to find out what healthy dish they will contribute next month.

I just find this a great way to include friends and family and their support is seriously one of the best feelings. Hopefully in the future I can help them want to include a healthy lifestyle by inspiring them to come up with new healthy delicious recipes.

1- A picture of all the food my husband and I made.

2- Dill pickle, ham, cheese.

3- Cherry, pineapple, ham.

4- Bread free. turkey bacon, turkey beef, cheeseburger bites.

5- cucumber, ham, cheese.

nothing wrong with cheese in my book! and it would be a crime to have it without!

  • And a whole grove of trees died just to make the toothpicks, Hey the stuff looks really good,? tie a piece of string around a hunk,of sharp cheddar and I'll follow you home.?

  • Oh wow! I'll be there next month! [emoji16] What a great and supportive group of friends! And what I great approach. Instead of limiting your self on what you can eat you invited everyone else to make

There's a lot of cheese in all of these recipes :/ but we live in Wisconsin so my friends would be disappointed without it.

Thank you! It was really a fun experience and it made the whole process seem a little less lonely.
