  1. Start with things that are quite smooth, Greek yogurt, unsweetened applesauce, peaches canned in their own juice, etc. Gradually build up on the texture scale. You'll do great!
  2. You should have plenty of great fish options, too! Have fun!
  3. Since you already realize how important therapy will be to your health and success, I think you're golden. The surgery will help get the weight off, the therapist will help you appreciate the new you. Perfect! Good luck!
  4. That is wonderful, congrats!
  5. Hey! Don't pick on my fantasy life! Oh, and I managed a scrambled egg the other day! Only got a little bit stuck! Woohoo! My excitement bar is set pretty low!
  6. That probably made it easier to have a good time! What a wonderful thing to get out of your head!
  7. You know, in general calling someone a "gutless wonder" is an insult, but in your case . . .
  8. Well, since they try to make the healthy versions look as much like the originals as possible, I'm not sure my inner craving demon can really tell the difference. But, I have to admit, since I'm still on soft foods, I do spend a lot of time fantasizing over the healthy foods I will eventually be able to eat. Guess I'm a masochist. Right now, I could just about kill for a grilled chicken salad, or a 1/2 slice of cauliflower-crust pizza!
  9. Congrats, you look fantastic! Thanks for sharing your inspiring success story!
  10. That's why I'm on the internet sites drooling!
  11. You'll be great. It should be easy to share such a positive, life-changing experience. Just don't be shy about saying "I don't know" when you don't. You can't be expected to have encyclopedic knowledge although some people expect it.
  12. Oh, wow! You look awesome and feel great, too! Congrats!
  13. Broth gives you the impression that you've had a meal. Sugary drinks don't do that for you. Sugar-free jello counts, too, and gives your stomach a bit of feeling of "fullness"
  14. Wow, how scary. Glad you're all right except for your war wounds. Thank you for sharing.
  15. Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery!
  16. This was long before my surgery, but as far as the cravings and breastfeeding goes - you are exhausted! When you're running on fumes your body craves sugar desperately. Find some way to get some rest. I know how hard it is; I had 4 under 4. Best wishes and congrats on your new little bundle of joy!
  17. Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery! See you on the loser's bench!
  18. This is one of the things our "required" therapist went over. How the use of certain words can frame the argument. My word of choice to describe my feelings toward food is "enjoy". Besides, who doesn't need a little more joy in their lives? I know a lot of people didn't get anything out of the therapy sessions, but our therapist was superb.
  19. Just my guess, but - with chicken salad each piece is "lubricated" and probably passes more easily through your pouch. Additionally, the chunks in chicken salad are usually smaller than the size of a piece of chicken we would normally cut for ourselves, so this helps to get used to smaller bits of food before we move on to the "real" stuff. Because it's not a forkful of chicken salad, it's one little bit at a time!
  20. Hi Carolinaaa3. Welcome to the site. Everyone here is very supportive and friendly. Just browse through the forums and check out topics that interest you. Probably most of your interests right now will be in the pre-op forums. But feel free to jump into any thread that catches your eye. There's one called "Was it worth it" in the Trending Topics column that you'd probably enjoy. There are several threads about what to pack for the hospital, what to buy and have ready to eat/drink at home, etc. The search function at the top of the site is great for finding those. When you search, select the dropdown and you get a choice to search the entire site. Otherwise, you're just searching in the forum you're currently in. Anyway, best of luck to you. See you around!
