  1. It's been a year since my heaviest weight of 456. I've lost 120 lbs since then and I feel amazing :)

  2. I hope everyone is doing well.

Had a wedding in Reno this last week but managed to have a good time anyway (lol)

My numbness that i thought was a pulled muscle was a rare but not unheard of side effect of rapid weight loss. It is a pinched nerve probably caused by the loss of fat around the nerve that allowed the nerve bundle to shift.

weight has been steady and holding within half a pound these last weeks so it looks like i have the correct calories dialed in for maintenance.

I can still do my treadmill time but weight lifting is off the table for now. So more lower body work and hopefully the pinched nerve will resolve with the stretching and time.

Got Scottish games to go to this weekend so looking forward to a fun if long day.

Wore a Suit for the first time in 20 years, can't say i enjoyed it but i survived the tie.

  3. im newwwwwww! :D , getting really excited for the coming surgery and this long journey.

  5. I'm less than 320 for the first time in many many years. I honestly cannot remember when. The lowest I can remember being is 325 back in 2015, but less than 320!?! I'm just over three weeks post-op and I'm down a total of 64.2 pounds lost since June 29, 2018, when I first saw the surgeon.

  6. So i'm new to this! Came across this site trying to figure out if my hungry self can eat pasta two weeks post op! (Of course I know this wont be a good idea lol) But Im glad I found it because I for sure need some support from people who are going though the same thing! 9. Happy Friday Everyone!

    Cheers to the weekend

  10. Had my final pre-op appointment today. Next Wednesday my liquid diet starts. It's getting real.

  11. I decided to stay in town for a couple of days to make sure I did not have to drive 4 hours to the emergency room if there was an issue. So good so far... I'll be heading home tomorrow and getting my dog out of puppy jail in the afternoon. (-:

  12. L'SHANA TOVAH !!!

  13. I may be going home today... I'm nervous about having to come back, since it is so far from where I live to this hospital and I do not want to go to the local hospital if I can help it...

  14. Some guy tried to give me his number today , told him I was in a rush, so I couldn't...

  15. Surgery went well and I'm so far able to tolerate drinking water and eating SF jello. I think I'm finally out of the fog of anesthesia drugs. The pain is less than I was expecting, compared to what I remember of the surgeries last year.

  16. Four hours until surgery and I cannot sleep... I'm actually a bit nervous...

  17. So after a busy and hectic day yesterday i stepped onto the scale this morning and low and behold i had reached my final goal of normal BMI range.

The Doc thinks i have pinched the nerve in my elbow and that is causing the tricep numbness.

She is sending me out to an Orthopedic specialist just to see if they have any ideas but since there is no pain involved  i don't see letting them cut on me.  To much downside for so little upside.

Thank you all for your support during the last year.

I do lurk around from time to time and read your posts so stay true to your program and go get that success you all deserve.

  18. I'm all packed and ready to head out when I wake up in the morning. I'll be traveling to Salt Lake City from my home in Idaho tomorrow for my surgery on Thursday.

  19. Been awhile since I've come and posted anything, but realized I should share that on July 21st I ran my very first half marathon! And did it even faster than I was hoping!! 2:53:50 for 13.1 miles B) The following week, I had a follow up appointment with my surgeon and I got a pic of me and Dr. Wallace while wearing my finisher medal. He was super excited! Now I'm featured on their website and Facebook page, and I even raised my hand to come in and speak to prospective patients at his info sessions about my experience. Right now I'm at 173.2, down from a HW of 300. First goal is to hit 160lbs, then I think my final weight goal will be somewhere around 140lbs. Excited for my next running challenge at the Disney Princess Half Marathon this upcoming February. I'll be doing the Fairytale Challenge - run a 10k on day one, then run a half marathon on day 2. Who knows, maybe I'll plan to do my first full marathon in late 2019!

  20. I weigh less than 350# for the first time in over a year (naked, on my unofficial scale at home)! I am using the medical office scale at work as my interim official scale (until I get back to my surgeon's office) and I weighed 351# this morning. This is a big milestone for me, since I was stalled for a while in the pre-op phase at 352#.

  21. Today I hit 216 and officially weigh less than my husband. That hasn't happened ever in our relationship and I am celebrating this exciting first! Small victories like this keep me going. :D

  22. So i had my 1 year follow up and i am off all supplements with the exception of a Centrum Silver.

All my blood tests were normal and my blood pressure was 107/70.

My surgeon was of course very happy with the level of weight loss and was very positive about the low carb diet i choose to live by now.

My tore tricep has left a numb section about 3 inches long by half inch wide along my tricep.

getting a referral to look at that issue.

Surgeon suggested i stop chasing the "normal BMI" but i haven't decided yet, it is the last goal i set for myself and i am so so close.

I hope all of you are having a great summer and i wish you all the success you deserve.

  23. I am now officially in my final trimester for my bachelor's! I have two classes this trimester and will be completed finally on December 9, 2018!

  25. Stall is finally broken and I am losing again. Stalls suck but I understand them much better now. I am still feeling great and have kicked my workouts up a notch. I went to an arm/abs class that turned out to be all men and "me".  The dudes walked in with their 30 lb hand weights and I have my little 7.5/10 lbs and I was thinking to myself...what did I get myself into, and am I going to embarrass myself?  Well I decided to stick it out and although I couldn't do everything the dudes were doing, I did a pretty darn good job of keeping up and I am proud of myself for being able to stick with it. I decided I am going back again tomorrow and I am going to kill it again. I belong there too!
