Where is he graduating from and what was his major? He is going to be so proud of his newly renovated and remodeled mommy this summer. Go to his graduation, get your surgery and then rock this world!

Graduating from University of South Carolina. Broadcast Journalism Major. That's him in the center of the picture on my profile. He plays football for the Gamecocks. I can't stop grinning. LOL... I cannot wait to not have to be on insulin and hbp meds and these swollen legs.

  2. After bugging BCBS of IL and TeamCare, I was approved. My dr's office submitted everything last week on 4/3/18 and I was approved today! I am so overjoyed. Cannot wait to talk to my Dr's office and get this surgery scheduled. My son graduates from college on 5/12 so I'm going to wait until after his graduation to have it done. I cannot wait. I'm so thrilled!

Literally feels like there is light at the end of the tunnel.

  3. Keep us posted how long it takes. Mines being submitted to BCBS of Oregon on Monday. I too have venous reflux and co workers think the same thing about all my Doctors appointments. I retain 20-30lbs of Water in my legs on any given day, it’s miserable and painful. Even taking 120mg of LASIK a day barely helps.
I’m praying all my appointments and tests will suffice.
I’m going for VSG, which are you choosing?

I’m having the sleeve as well.

Congratulations on your paperwork being submitted. It really is an achievement in this process. The next goal is getting that yes and you are close to getting it.

I understand why you can’t wait. I love my sleeve. Surgery went well for me as did folllowing the post-surgery diet. My surgery was 12/28/17 so I’m about 3 1/2 months post-surgery. The weight loss has been slow and steady for me.

Yay! What a great day for you - soak it in. 💐

Thank you. I just can't wait to feel good again. Seems like it has been so long. My insurance said it normally takes 15 days. Gonna keep myself occupied with other things.

  5. So my dr's office finally submitted the paperwork to BCBS of IL yesterday, They said they received it, will do the medically review and then submit it to Team Care (hubby is a UPS'er) for approval. Hoping to have all of this done by May. Started the process in Nov.

Over here sitting on pins and needles. With all of my co-morbidities, I'm beyond ready to use this tool to get some relief.

Just excited and needed to get it off of my chest. I have told a few co-workers, but most just think I'm going out to have surgery on my legs for my venous reflux.

    I can't wait.

  6. And where are you located? I call myself the Bariatric Godmother since I'm about the oldest(72) active and have a strong sense of helpfulness. My advice: look for a Bariatric High Risk surgeon at a Center of Excellence hospital, preferably attached to a teaching university with a medical school. They are the creme de la creme in their field, you have to be up to date to teach future doctors and surgeons. Let me use ME as an example. I don't have a diagnosis of CHF but I do have lymphedema and venous stasis in both legs. Although I'm not the star pitcher I am playing on that ball-field. I live in Central Ohio, I will be having my RnY surgery at Ohio State University-Wexner Medical,Center in Columbus, our state capital. OSU is a Bariatric Center of Excellence hospital, has been since the early,2000s. One of the pioneers in minimally invasive laprascopic surgery if I remember correctly. I'm not sure which of the doctors will be mine, I suspect the Chief of Bariatric Surgery because of my age. I am not as high risk,as you,but my age would give some doctors pause to reflect. I am in good to excellent shape for my age, my PCP calls me a 45 year old trapped inside a fat arthritic 72 body. My BP, heart, lungs, and diabetes status are better than his and he's in only his mid-40s. I passed all the prerequirements for another program, they "kicked me to the curb" after being in their program since August 2015, very rare occurance so no worries for you about that. My records were transferred to OSU where I probably should have gone in the 1st place, I have a 2 hour psych appointment with OSU staff psychologist Dr Kramer April 25th, then depending on whether they require additional testings, it could be as soon as early May, might be June sure hope it won't be July. My high school reunion[emoji621] will be August 11th, I had hoped to look so good nobody would recognize me![emoji14][emoji626]Oh but que sera sera, whatever will be will be. In the, meantime I'll stay the course in an upbeat frame if mind[emoji304] If I can help any other people on their journeys, hurray!!÷
