Anxious - Lonely - No Friends to Support My Journey

Hello All, Sorry, I've been away for a while. I went back to work for a while. Ms. Summit, welcome to the group. I am so sorry to hear about your hospital experience, but glad to know you are trying to put it in a more healthy perspective for you. Your body will react differently to stress now than it did before. Thank you for sharing about the absorption issues. It looks like I may need a hip replacement, however, I will leave that in God's hands. I am too young for a knee replacement and again lifting that up to God. I would normally say you are not alone, however, I have not been consistent in reading or posting. To have a friend one must be a friend. Regardless of my inconsistencies, their are several other's here who will keep your spirits lifted if you let them. I have always gotten good information and uplifting responses. I have no doubt that you will too. Watch out for the hormonal changes, especially with such rapid weight loss that you are about to experience in the first year. My first dietitian said we dump a lot of stored estrogen. Just a head's up. The emotional roller coaster is not due just to the physical changes. Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery. Mrs. Boss
  2. Thank you for the head's up. My apologies. I thought I was in the right place. Well that goes to show why I am a newbie. Off I go to find my correct group, LOL
  3. Well, well. I fell like I'm talking to a bunch of rookies,in some ways, LOL. I just turned 50, it seems but I'm 10 years post op for a RNY. I need your young at heart and mind optimism. I am gaining. All of you sound so young, yet wise in your posts. I feel lost right now. All of you sound grounded and I'm trying to figure out where I went wrong and how do I get back to where I was. I am so happy for those of you starting your journey. It seems I have come full circle and did not overcome or deal with all my psychological demons. My bypass is just a tool not a do it for me catch all. Yes, the arthritis will get better and movement will become easier. Watch how the release of hormones in the stored fat will make you fell some kind of way. We have an increased risk for migraines, hair and dental problems, as well as absorption issues. I am also being hit with menopausal issues. Each body is different and you know you better than anyone else. For activity, walking, stationary bike, and water aerobics are a great way to go especially for those joints. It is important to add weights for muscle strength. Oh, love the note about the shoes, wasn't prepared for my shoe size to drop. I'm glad I found you. I started at 400+, got down to 204 and am back up to 277. I have a 26 yr old and a 7 yr old and have to get back to a happier healthier me. My son is special needs and I think with an on-line support system I might be able to get back on track. Who knows, maybe some of you are close enough to meet up. I wish all of you the best possible success and God's blessing.
  4. I'm so far over the edge, the knot I tied in the end of my rope is unraveling. I need help, support and I'm back to no one believing how much I weigh because I "carry it so well and you're so tall." Thank you for the reminder that I did all of this for a reason:me. I just have to find me again along with a new support system or do it alone.
