It helps when you realize you don't have to walk the pathway alone. Depression can be so isolating, please ask for help if you need it. No SHAME with that GAME at all.

Irregular menstruation after gastric sleeve surgery
Frustr8 replied to Beltran01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seems like 2 of the 3 in front of you are having it too. Weird FYI when they started Indian women on oral contraceptives they told then to start the pills on the first of the month, the Ganges River turned red from the women's monthly purification rituals. Its a documented fact! -
Seems to be very common from what I've read on here.😛

SEPTEMBER 2018 SURGERIES AND SUCCESS
Frustr8 replied to Frustr8's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
And I have a form of pre-op class on Friday , I meet with my anesthesiologist on Friday, one,of the things I must bring up is the fact,i am allergic to hibaclenz, find out if there is an,option or if I am going to be painted with a layer of Betadine from stem to stern. Every other surgery I ever had , I met the anesthesia guy or gal just before I was put to sleep. Oh well, every doctor, every hospital has their own way of doing things, I either can argue,or go with the flow. Think I'll do the latter. Good luck tomorrow with your classes. -
Psoriasis, any improvement?
Frustr8 replied to melsabells's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well you share psoriatic arthritis with Greg Norman, the golfer. I know, whoopy bang, the thrill just ain't there. Did you know in medical. literature psoriasis is know as " the curse of the Celts" , am I Celtic ? my sons, names were Kevin and Bryan, indicates something doesn't it? Well my surgery is the 5th of September, we will See what we will See. -
I hope you didn't blame it on the Texas Rangers. Hey let's blame Rick Perry, he's off in Washington and can't defend himself. He's either doing a very, good, job or a very bad job, because Trump hasn't fired him yet! 😛LOL

GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+<br /> +
Frustr8 replied to Frustr8's topic in The Gals' Room
Yeah mine does also. Only concession to my "Advanced" age. Most people with Wednesday surgery go home on Thursday morning, I may be there until Friday or even Saturday. NBD , no big deal, I'm grateful he wants to watch over ME another day or so! Really like THIS doctor, and no I don't blindly love them all anymore. Long story--, at 72 I have more than my share, after all. -
Whoo Whoo Bells and Whistles⏰ time for "skm"! Loads of Post'Surgical people ready to welcome you in!✨🌟🎉🎊🎶

*** September 2018 Sleevers ***

@ Katallac Strong. look Under " General Weight Discussions" if you haven't found it already! Okay, really would 💜 having you and everyone else. -
And on September 5th your Good Wishes will help me over that hump into post-surgeryland. To answer your original query, they usually ask why you want this surgery? They want to make sure you don't want to look like a movie star, but more deeper reasons. How hard have you tried losing weight in the past? Very few people can reduce and keep weight without surgery. Do you understand portions of your anatomy won't be the same? Some people fear surgery because they look on it as mutilation of their body. Can you understand, do you feel you can follow a different meal plan the rest of your life? This is not something you do over a weekend and then go on living a careless food life. Are you frightened of dying, either on the table or in daily life. Nobody will do surgery on someone already unstable emotionally. What are your plans for the future? Nobody will perform surgery for someone who wants only to be a centerfold in Penthouse. Besides unless the photographer positions you just right you will have 5- 7 teensy abdominal scars, nobody wants to airbrush those out or use a special lens. With some kinds of surgery you are on a lot of vitamins, with every one you are on some Can you afford up to $150 a month for vitamins? You will be eating a much less copious amount of food, maybe you'll have extra money there? Most times your vitamins will be less than that amount. Most important: Be positive -Be committed - Be Friendly But,most, Be yourself, Be Yourself, the world wants and needs You. That's why you are here, there's a spot only you can fill. Check back with us often- we support your decisions- we have or will be going through all these things and we would treasure the time we spend with YOU! Frustr8 and the Bariatric Pal Crew

Why I am so hungry all the time.
Frustr8 replied to newmeinfla's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
PPI are protein pump inhibitors. They help your stomach not pump out so much acids. Both surgeries should slow down or,nearly stop acid production. But remember your stomach is very peeved with you. You might have studied up, decided that surgery would benefit you more than not having surgery, for resolved this with your brain. Meanwhile your stomach was very happy, you were tossing down daily a whole bunch of goodies for it to play with and digest. First you sent down water and other liquids. Then before it got a chance to say "What 😧are YOU doing to ME" you allowed a surgeon to come in, slash, gash and generally, butcher it. No wonder it's peeved, and since its not wired for Bluetooth this the only way it has to respond. Does this help explain this? So a PPI is a specialized acid reducer.😛💊 -
And so will you @ dreaming of a sleeve! I believe yours fears are fears of the unknown, not,of the surgery itself. And that is normal, you can hear all of us until you think your head will pop, but since you are an individual yours still might differ. But it will be good, good for you, and a -👣step on the pathway to good health. I have met only one person not planning for hers, she,was the 1 in a million that had a rare abdominal occurance and ended up with a sleeve to save her life. She came here, scared, bewildered what happened and I'm glad we could give her enough. practical advice that I think she's going to be okay. And if we were here for her, rest assured we are here for you too. Ask if something is bothering you, we usually have at least 1 answer. Sometimes many!

Well I am greatful to meet and you @boardlady and @The Preacher, among all the youngins here I am overjoyed for people a little closer to my age. And The Preacher, among my friends I thank Our God there are many Bible-Believing Baptists, the true"salt of of the earth" May I gently tease you a little? Went to a funeral, preacher got up, after a short eulogy, lit into a salvation sermon. I'm there thinking W.O.E( what on earth) I don't believe this! 5 of the, people attending shortly after died, I know 4 found Jesus through that, before their final day. So I think we can't second-guess God, that was the right thing at the right time. Lets agree to keep serving👣,in our way- the retirement is out of this world! 😛

And someday we will join you in post- surgery-land where the tree leaves are green and contain no carbs, the river flows with low-fat dressing, salads brim over with vitamins and meats and other proteins are easy to swallow and do your body good. And as soon as a condo becomes available, I'm. moving there! Maybe there will be room on the cul de sac for You and You and You! Come join me there!

really not losing weight rapidly
Frustr8 replied to nevertoolate's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
If you are following all the rules your doctor gave you, getting plenty of fluids, exercising ,some of those fat cells temporarily sitting there holding water will empty up and you'll lose weight. See they are still hoping you'll eat enough fat they can refill. -

Why I am so hungry all the time.
Frustr8 replied to newmeinfla's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Are you currently on a PPI? Sometimes gastritis and/or excess stomach acid masquerade as hunger pangs. Are going too long between meals and snacks that your stomach is empty? it may be saying " she used to throw juicy treats down here if I asked- what's with this austerity plan or measures?" I'm not HAPPY, and when I'm not HAPPY nobody will be permitted to be happy!" You may be suppering from Bossy Bowel syndrome, inform your stomach who the real BOSS is. -
@Hannah83 were you ever able to have your surgery?
