  1. It might be head hunger. I didn’t have much pain but I do notice now that after 7 wks post op - I only eat 3 x day and I know when it’s been too long because I actually feel hunger - at first it was hard to just forget about the food etc but you will be better - just be patient and follow drs orders - good luck

  2. I wish you the best. I was you but before the surgery. I started seeing a “life coach” it’s so much different than a therapist and she helped me more in 6 months than 20 yrs of dieting and therapist etc. i am 6 wks post op and have adopted better habits but it was hard and still is. You can do this / there will be bad days and good days don’t beat yourself up about the bad ones and learn from the good ones.

  3. Damn! ((hugs)) So glad you didn't have to go to the ER though!!!
Hopefully someone will come by with the exact enzymes to take when this happens? I can't remember what kind and want to get them and keep them here. Think they are a mix of papaya and bromelain maybe? And they will help dissolve food in your tums so you can pass it? But can't remember exactly. I've wanted to get them to have for emergencies.
I'm about where you are right now. And chew chew chewing is soooo hard to remember, isn't it? I have to cut things up so tiny it's ridic!

I know ! Enzymes ? Hmm. I’ll call doc in am and find out about them. I just have to remember to drink Water !! Ugh. It is hard to remember to chew - I resolved to counting 40 times per bite - it’s hard to do when the bite is the size of a dime! Ridiculous [emoji6]

  4. Well I am 3 wks post op sleeve and I was doing so good. Then I had a hard boiled egg and didn’t pay attention to the bite - awful! I was in pain for an hour but I didn’t vomit. Then again today I wasn’t paying attention to the bite and again pain and suffering- except this time I had to get rid of it. I vomited 2x and finally it felt better. But now my throat and esophagus are burning. Doc says back to liquid diet for 2 days. I have learned my lesson and I hope this helps someone else.

  5. Good luck to you. I have had all positive experiences with the doctor, nutritionist, Dietitian, nurses and hospital during this 10 month journey and i wish you and all the same. Today we go to our 1 we post op class and go into Phase 2. Excited to learn what’s good and bad for the next part. I do know cottage cheese is on the menu and not SF Jello! I will be happy to never have Jello again !

  6. Hi is there anybody else with the same surgery date as me or anywhere close? I’m excited and nervous all at the same time. Also I’m not looking forward to this liquid diet at all

My surgery was 2/26. I’m doing good - just today I’m introducing Protein Shake in small sips. I’m still in chicken broth, sf Jello, Water. I am healing great but fatigued. My post op class is Tuesday when we get to have some cottage cheese and cooked veggies and learn how to chew and portion. I’m at that soft food phase for 3 months. I’m excited about everything- maybe I’m one of the lucky ones I wish everyone was. Good luck

  7. I too have a hard time drinking the recommended amount of Water daily. I am 5 days post op. its 3 in the afternoon and I am still on my first bottle (24oz). I infuse the water with lemon, orange but have to take tums for the acid reflux. so i switched to cucumber & mint and that helped. i bought myself a light up water bottle to remind me to drink smaller sips more often - that's the only way I know how to drink the recommended amount and for it not to hurt. Good Luck.

  8. I’m 4 days post op from gastric sleeve and was so excited to find this forum. Not a lot of pain but the acid reflux is Awful! My dr has a strict regiment - maybe the same as others - chicken broth, Water and sugar free Jello for 8 days. Then a post op class where we can have cottage cheese. I’m very tired but I force myself to walk every 2 hrs. I’m sure the sluggish feeling will pass soon - I hope. Very excited for this journey to a lifetime of weight issues. Thanks for reading.
