  1. Good luck, I know everything will go great for both of us.....check in after and let me know how you do and how you feel.
  2. I will be updating my posts along the way to let everyone know how I'm doing. I'm trying to stay off the scale and not pay too much attention to what I'm losing right now but it is so hard. It seems like based on what I am eating compared to what I was eating I should be dropping weight like crazy. I can tell I have lost and I'm glad to know it is permanent. I can't wait for the surgery, seems like it will never get here. I have started to miss solid foods a bit and my emtions are a bit more up and down than usual maybe the lack of sugar and caffeine. Thanks to everyone for being so welcoming....
  3. Thanks for this as you are right, I'm up next week and anxious to find anything I can so I know what to expect.
  4. Hang in there.....I'm five days into my 14 day preop with Optifast. To give you a laugh....I was really missing warm food so I decided to do the Soups or broth with optifast. Well to make a long story short, I thought I was having a touch of gas and WRONG it was the big D. I'm so glad I was on my way home from work and able to handle it quickly but they should have a warning with the Soup about that as I have not seen that in any of the posts. Now, sounds like when you cheated you did it with Protein and a salad. No big deal....shake it off and congratulate yourself on making a good choice if you had to cheat. Remember, nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!!! Hang in there you have come to far to give up now....WE CAN ALL DO THIS!
  5. My surgeon told me it has to do with the size your body will accomodate on the inside. I asked him what size band I would get as obviously I would rather have a larger band and he explained he would put the largest band that would fit to my body.
  6. I'm having surgery on the 24th of April in Dallas, my surgeon is Dr. Kim. I'm very excited and can't seem to wait for the 24th to get here. Anyone else out there same day same surgeon? I'm 5 days into my preop diet...he requires 2 weeks of optifast. I'm sailing through it with no problems so far. I really don't miss "Pepsi" yet which is all I drank and feared giving up the most. I have moved to Crystal light and have been enjoying the change. The only thing I have missed was having warm foods, I got some of the soup and haven't looked back. Seems like it should be harder......
  7. Thanks Stacy....Happy early Birthday since I will be in surgery that day.... The pre op is so far so good....the only thing I have had a bit of a problem with is wanting something hot. I fixed that with the soup and am mixing it up a bit. How weird I never thought I would miss the hot stuff...I thought I would have a bigger issue with going from food to all liquids. Hope everyone is doing well....I can't wait until my surgery....seems like it will never get here.
  8. I had mine today and was a little freaked out too. I really enjoyed it. I took basic question tests and then we talked for about an hour about my habits, support system, have i thought this through that type stuff. I felt really great when I left having one more person confirm I was doing the right thing for me. In fact she told me a couple of times she was very excited for me and hoped I would keep in touch with my progress since she specializes in bariatrics.
  9. Hi Guys, I have been lurking for awhile and I feel like I know all of you now based on following your progress. I wanted to take a moment to thank each of you on this post because you guys have each contributed to my decision to become a Bandy and the choices I made. I'm going through TLC and can not say enough great things about them. They are such a great bunch of people. Mary Bell, Cynthia and I have even already met Gerorge....are all so helpful and have such a way about making you feel as though you are the most important person in the world. Dr. Kim is incredible. I was amazed at how great his bedside manner is and how much time he took to make me feel comfortable. I know he is experienced and that I am in good hands. His PA is really wonderful too. While I know I am a bit behind you guys, I would enjoy becoming a part of the group. You guys have answered so many of my questions before I knew I had them that I hope I can do the same here for others. Just wanted to stop lurking and step out there.
