VanessaKaye reacted to mousecat88 in Pseudotumor Cerebri
Has anyone here been diagnosed with pseudotumor?
I was diagnosed with this in July of 2017, and my neuroopthamologist said it would go away if I lost just 10% of my body weight. Well, I lost way more than that.
That year, I lost 60lbs and NOTHING changed with respect to my optic nerve swelling and diagnosis (I have since gained all that weight back).
After you had the surgery, did the pseudotumor and optic nerve swelling resolve itself? That is one (of many) of the primary reasons I am opting for surgery.

I had horrible GERD before surgery but after my GERD went completely away. I was one of the lucky ones.

No problem! My pre-op diet was two weeks. It consisted of three meals that totaled in 800 calories. I did not follow pre-op diet well. Oops. But now, my sleeve keeps me very restricted. I love it.

I started my weight loss journey at 443 lbs. I had my sugery on March 12, 2018 at 394 lbs (VSG). I'm not down to 310 lbs. I didn't prepare well because I was so addicted to food but I do have very active job. But I'm very pleased with my surgery.

I think head hunger is a definite real thing. I'm about four months post op and I'm one of the lucky ones that still gets full off of a tablespoon of food. When I get 'hungry' I immediately think that I need to eat something with Protein because I know it'll fill me up super fast. I don't know if this answers your question but this is my take. I really focused on filling my stomach with things that make me full fast. When I first got my vsg, i hard core focused on learning when I was actually hungry and to ignore head hunger. It was hard but when I got rid of carbohydrates, I found that my head hunger went away for the most part.

I had my surgery (vsg) on March 12 of this year. I had complications after surgery. I had a high fever and a high blood pressure after surgery. It only last a couple of days. With this said, I would get this surgery over and over again. This surgery gave a quality of life I didn't think I would have. Do not cancel your surgery. This surgery is worth it.

This thread is frustrating. But it's because of the OP. It doesn't matter if you had food left over from a family visit. You throw it away and take control. Stop the excuses. It's not a good look, sis.

Listen, I’m done. You don’t seem to care for my advice. I don’t spend time talking to people to sit around and have pity parties or offer unsound advice. I genuinely cared about your problem, and can relate to your disease. I even was PM a friend on here about sending you testing supplies, I care. I didn’t ever ridicule or beat you up. I just pointed out the flaws to your method. I didn’t attack your character, or even question your commitment to the process. No one is ever going to be on the exact same page. Some people, you can never offer the right advice.

I had to take off six weeks. I work with individuals with mental and physical disabilities. It's very strenuous. But I think one to two weeks for a desk job should be okay.
