  1. Had Pre op at North Vista hospital today. Nicest group of people. Greeted as I walked in door, escorted us by member of team that preps you for surgery. Surgery on Wed. Calmed me down. Not as nervous. Surgeon has 5 of us that day, guess I will have company!
I did not have that service. I dont know how many that day but my dr said between the 2 of them, they do 8 on Tuesdays. I'm not really so nervous. I was before but as I got closer, I talked to others and my dr and I was calmed. Im hoping for overnight and out but I wont push it if I need another day. Im in NJ.

  2. Yep that was me too. I spent one night in the hospital. You might get a little nauseous the first and second day post op but don’t worry they’ll give you meds and it will pass. Honestly my BIGGEST advice to you is every morning first think get up, boil a regular size coffee mug of Water, dissolve 3 bullion cubes in it, pour it back in a coffee mug, and sip the entire thing down using a spoon. It literally makes 100% difference. I have energy. Am moving. No pain. Feel great. Getting fluids in. And it’s all because my doctor gave me that advice. The one day I didn’t do that I get awful and dehydrated. I’m only 6 days post op :-)
Would chicken broth work the same?

  3. Definitely GASX, Tylenol, dry Shampoo and wipes to clean yourself with since you can’t shower for a couple days. A heating pad is a MUST and a good pillow. Also, make sure you have SUPER comfy jammies that are not tight around your incision.
I have chewable gasx. I have tylenol and dry shampoo. I bought myself a wedge pillow thinking that will help. My dr says I will be in overnight and as long as I'm getting in my Water, I can go home next day.

  4. Hi! Surgery went well. I was a little nauseous after but not a lot at all. I honest have like zero pain except for 1 spot which is my diaphragm. I have an incision very close to it so I’m not sure if it’s the incision that caused the pain or if it’s that trapped co2 gas. Either way it’s literally the only think achy. I was walking around an hour after surgery. I’m having no problem drinking Water and eating popsicles haha. The anesthesia is finally starting to wear off so that’s good. Its not bad at all.....that damn diaphragm just needs to stop aching then it’s REALLY nothing haha
It's great you haven't has much pain. How long are you in the hospital for? What did you bring with you that you really needed and that you really didn't need? I'm making my bag up this weekend and want to be prepared but not bring crazy stuff

  5. I'm scheduled for the 15 and I have to do 2 day clear liquids for a prep. And Pre op..its getting close and I'm getting nervous but I've come this far and I'm not backing out now. I'm tired of yoyo dieting and putting so much effort into dieting for it to fail me over and over again

Oh I am a bundle of nerves. Normally nothing comes between me and sleep but I've been up once 3:30 am. I'm going for my preop testing tonight. I have an appt with surgeon monday afternoon. The 14th I start Clear Liquids. I've been doing 2 Protein Shakes a day with a small lunch to prep me. According to dr and insurance, I'm only scheduled for 1 night in the hospital.
