I’m not getting on the scale until I go back for my post of appointment as long as I am doing what I am supposed too I will not be getting on the scale !

My main suggestion is PRAY...ask the Lord to cover you and heal you and give you direction...he can do the impossible just talk to him, cry out to him..he already knows hes just waiting for you to give it to him...BY HIS STRIPES YOU ARE HEALED IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME....#prayerchangesthings

Veterans usually ignore the negative posts. I'm going to respond once and not acknowledge @Vsglife again. Hope the rest of the board will do the same. Take what is useful and ignore the people that personal attack and are seeking drama and attention.

Well I think you've already had your 'come to Jesus" moment where the fear of surgery is less than continuing to live like you are. We all have our defining moment, some similar but,many differing. I realized I was sick and tired of being sick and [emoji31] tired. I was weary of dragging around a body that wasn't serving me very well. And as i slowed and moved less I could see my own mortality ahead and I realized I didn't want to die just yet. There were things I had not accomplished and places yet to go. So I'm claiming a future out of my foggy past, going to be RnY early-mid March at Mount Carmel in Columbus Ohio. I still have hope and desire to make this a success. Come join me on the journey for the best is yet to be.

Congrats on your surgery and weight loss. It gets better after you reach the real food stage.
Changing behaviors takes time. When you repeat small efforts over and over it becomes habit. This will be your new normal. ..hang in there[emoji6]

No, right now I hurt so badly from being overweight that exercising isn't really an option. I've changed my eating habits enough to get my blood glucose (A1C) to safe levels for surgery. In a week, I begin my pre-op diet which I know will be difficult because I will have to contend daily with low blood sugar while my diabetic meds get tweaked. There really isn't much that I can do to make things easier at the moment. I will just grin and bear it.

The left was at Christmas. I was sleeved on 1/9. The right is on 2/9. I can’t see it when I look in the mirror, but I can in this photo for sure.

Don’t feel disheartened everybody bodies react differently! You will do just fine, try not to weigh yourself weekly. Best of Luck!

Think of it as your body pausing to regroup and realign , then it will relax and the weight loss probably will resume. In the meantime you might have NSV like your clothes and shoes becoming looser. It will all balance out but it's hard to stay patient. Don't stress yourself out.

Remember your body has experienced a big trauma and has to have time to heal itself, your going to do great.

It makes one since sleeve done. I AM THE SAME WEIGHT I WAS SINCE SURGERY DATE. the pre op diet had me lose 13 pounds,and now zero.Why? I know I haven't used the restroom and took stool softners as well as laxatives...but the amt of food eaten on this post diet( two Protein shakes...broth..sugar free pops) had me lose before. Getting disappointed.
