Not passing gas! Help!
I was bloated and cramping. Gas X strips did nothing. Ended up taking milk of magnesia twice a day (children's dose) for two days. It worked! I was moving gas and solids and it alleviated my belly.

Was this surgery enough for you?
I definitely want a breast lift with implants. My boobs are like pancakes, it's just ridiculous. I will see what my skin does. However, I am squeemish and it's difficult for me to look at blood and scarring and to care for incision wounds. Have y'all seen that show Skin Tight on TLC?! OMG - those people are SO courageous! The healing can take months and they have to deal with the draining tubes?! *Faint*

Gurgling in Esophagus after Swallowing
I'm two weeks post op from the sleeve and a hiatal hernia repair. Sometimes when I swallow, I hear and feel a gurgling in my esophagus. It lasts two or three seconds and then stops. Anyone having this?

Gastric Sleeve & Hiatal Hernia Repair
My surgeon told me he was going to repair my hiatal hernia during the sleeve gastrectomy. I really can't tell that anything has been done either way. LOL Felt like crap first three days, but each day got better and better. Some days I still don't have energy and I feel weak. I also hit a road block with major cramping during my second week, but I took some milk of magnesia twice a day for two days and I finally felt better.

What's wrong with a straw?
I was told NOT to drink out of a straw. Slow sips of water, often. Well, I did really well the first week or so. Starting week 2, I realize I'm probably only getting 20-30oz in. Yesterday I started filling my 24oz Tervis tumbler with water and drinking through a straw. I hit my 64oz daily goal yesterday and am already at about 32oz today. I haven't *felt* anything weird when drinking with the straw or anything weird going on in my stomach. I really hope I can continue doing this because for some reason, I tend to drink A LOT more when it's from my tumbler with straw. (I wonder if it reminds me of my fast food drinks?!??! What a thought. Yikes.)

Bloated and Can’t Eat.
I was doing fine with the pudding and shakes for a week. I hope it's not lactose intolerance, but it's certainly a possibility. Since I've felt better I had pudding without any upset stomach. I'm so relieved. If I do become lactose intolerant I will be so pissed!!! LOL I will definitely look out for this.

Bloated and Can’t Eat.
SosewSue & Fluffy - I think y'all were right. I think I was backed up but my doctor never mentioned that could be it. I was told to go back on clear liquids and take it slow. I was bloated and cramping for a good 5 days there. I broke down and took some milk of magnesia a few times and after 2 days, I finally felt some relief. On Monday I finally had yogurt and applesauce again without incident. Thank goodness! Like another member has commented, I feel like you think you know how things are going and then bam, something pops up and you don't know what's going on. But thankfully it wasn't anything serious!! Just poop!!

War wounds itching [emoji380][emoji380][emoji380]
I use SARNA for my itchy eczema skin. Will use on my incisions when they start to itch. Works on contact. Keep in fridge for even better relief! It’s about 9.99 a bottle at CVS, Walgreens, etc.

Trouble eating and drinking 2 months post-op
I experienced workplace bullying three years ago. Devastating experience. Had to seek therapy. You will get through this. I hope you did quit!! Best thing you could do!

Band to sleeve success stories, please.
Beautiful baby! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for little scar tissue! Good luck if I don’t catch you before surgery!

Psychological aspects
"Love was possible twice, it will be possible again. I want to stop the cycle of self-loathing. I am not going into the operating room out of self-disgust, I am going out of self-compassion." Amen! Loved your post. You're right, the psychological component to this surgery is substantial. You are already so self-aware of your emotions and mental health. You, sir, are ahead of the game. I think you are going to do extremely well with this journey. You must be out of surgery now... I hope this post finds you well and walking those hospital halls!! Can't wait to hear how you are doing.

Exercise
I trained myself to believe that any exercise I do counts - which, technically it does. However, I don't think it will make a difference regarding your surgery. It's more important that you walk/exercise right after surgery.

Vision Changes After Surgery? Temporary?

Bloated and Can’t Eat.
Thank you so much all. I was able to drink a little bit last night without cramping. This morning I opened a big water bottle and have gotten 20oz down in 3 or so hours. So Yay! But, I still am bloated with cramps and cannot eat. Tried applesauce and the cramping began. Not hungry either so at least I don’t have hunger pain on top of all this.

Bloated and Can’t Eat.
Ok, just spoke to my doctor. He told me to stop taking the gallbladder medicine for a week. (I had mixed the pill powder in with the pudding last night - it may be irritating my stomach he said). He did give me a lecture about not taking the caraphate before meals that coats your stomach and makes it less sensitive. Since I haven't eaten anything, he told me to take the caraphate now and begin drinking water slowly in a half an hour. He's worried I will become dehydrated soon. I will see in half an hour if I still get cramps when I drink. I have to call him in the morning to give him an update.

Time off work
Had surgery on Wednesday 2/28 and back at work Monday 3/5. I have a desk job and hid behind my potted plant when I got drowsy.

Pain management post surgery
I had morphine in my IV too. Didn't ask for it, they just put it in there! lol. I was sent home with Tylenol liquid with codeine. I'd say the pain was about a 5 for me. I didn't feel the need to take the Tylenol when I got home. It's really hard to believe part of your organ is missing and you're not in that much pain.

I hate food.
Which foods make your stomach hurt? Curious!

Bloated and Can’t Eat.
It's weird I actually had a great BM today. LOL But it didn't help! (Just texted my Dr.'s cell - hopefully he'll get back with me soon.)

Bloated and Can’t Eat.
Yeah, you’re right. I’ll update here shortly.

Bloated and Can’t Eat.
I called the office and realized they close early on Friday. I have his cell phone number but it feels weird to call and I’m afraid to get a lecture. Lol

Bloated and Can’t Eat.
Last night I ate about 2oz of yogurt and then 30 mins later about 3oz of sf pudding. I don’t know what happened but since then I’ve felt uncomfortable and bloated. Woke up this morning and it was still there! I haven’t been able to eat all day. Took a few sips of protein shake over the last 8 hours. That’s it. I’m 7 days post op. Starting to worry. Anyone else had this?

Very discouraged op 1/11/18
I’m experiencing the exact same thing. Totally hungry all the time and feel like I may be eating too much? Im just gonna give it some time. See how this continues to play out. From reading so many others’ posts, seems like the journey has a lot of twists and turns. Hang in there kiddo!
