    Any February Sleevers?

Team PACU for the win! I slept off and on for a few hours (did you know NBC was reairing the men's free skate at 4 AM?). I've started my drinking test, so I'm out of the hospital bed and in the recliner. This is no time for pride or propriety: I am gassy. That's the majority of the issue right now - gas. Pain isn't awful, actually fairly manageable, but good heavens I have to fart.

    Any February Sleevers?

Greetings from the PACU, where I've been for the last ten hours. Apparently I may be here overnight; I'm not sure why, but I haven't been transferred to a room. As long as I'm lying down or standing up, everything is copacetic. I've been walking around the unit a few times, crunched some ice chips... doing okay.
  3. Tomorrow. It's tomorrow and I am terrified. (I'm also incredibly excited, but right now terrified is winning the day.)

As of last night, I've lost 12 pounds on the pre-op diet. Literally a pound a day. How does that even happen?

I'm bummed that we couldn't have a nice Valentine's Day dinner last night. R ate before I got home; I had some tomatoes.

I'm afraid of pain. That's mostly it; I'm afraid of pain. And, of course, of something going wrong during surgery. But mostly pain.

I can't settle your nerves, no one can, in fact, but, trust me, nothing about it is as bad as you imagine it to be. I was the same way. Wishing you the best! Optimize this tool and your life will change exponentially.

    Any February Sleevers?

This morning I had my pre-admission testing. Not long after I got to my desk, the hospital billing office called and let me know that insurance had approved me. (the I called the insurance company and confirmed it.) Holy crap. This is *actually happening* - one week from tomorrow (2/18).
  5. No, not a big vacation - but my parents have offered to take me to their home for my recuperation period. That's about a five-hour drive. Good idea/bad idea?
