  1. Sending prayers and positive vibes!
  2. This is so true! I have been both directions since surgery and I also carry a spare pair of underwear. I also keep a spare pair at the office with a spare pair of pants, just in case. I have had too many close calls to not have a back up.
  3. Okay ladies - is anyone having difficulty shaving your armpits after surgery? I am finding that I am constantly missing the deeper crease near my back. I can't contort myself enough to get that spot no matter what I do. It is like a game of twister in the shower to try and bend enough to get into the new creases. Please share your shaving secrets if you have any!
  4. I had several nights of weird dreams the first week. Really bizarre stuff. I chalked it up to my sleep being off and being woken up at the hospital at all hours for things (they did 4 a.m. blood draws). I don't have them anymore.
  5. I was off all pain meds 1 day after coming home from the hospital. I was in the hospital 2 days after sleeve and hiatal hernia repair.
  6. I was told it was okay to use straws again and have been. Seems to make it easier for me to consume all my water requirements.
  7. So I’m still in the hospital and it looks like I may have a viral intestinal bug. Have seen both surgeon and a slew of other docs and they seem in agreement. So when I got here and they handed me the small gown to put on I was hesitant as I’ve always needed the large one. The small one fit and has room. I cried. I can not remember when I could wear this small gown. Even though I’m pretty miserable I’m trying to find something good every day to celebrate. You all are the only folks that understand.
  8. I’m in the hospital. Turns out I have a stomach bug. Will be here for a couple of days.
  9. For the last 2 days I have had horrible diarrhea to the point where it hits and I can’t stop it. Haven’t been able to eat anything and can barely drink. My stomach hurts and I’ve been taking Imodium to no avail. I’m thinking of maybe taking a trip to an urgent care or ER thoughts? My whole body hurts. Just hurts. Headache. I’m a hot mess.
  10. Your experience is exactly like mine. Everything seems too easy. Part of me wishes I did so I had a negative reinforcement that would force me to not overeat. It just means we have to be diligent with our choices and follow our program. When I moved to solids I really didn't have any issues and so far I can eat anything including steak.
  11. I am also in the NW burbs. I also used the Kane Center - Peter Rantis.
  12. I have said to my surgeon more than once that I feel like I never had a sleeve surgery. I have been blessed to have no vomiting, no dumping, etc. I almost feel like I wish I had that restriction so it would reinforce my new eating habits. I feel great and logically I know I had the surgery but with little side effects and I was stalled for a few weeks I was questioning the surgery.
  13. I am like that too. Can you give a call into the surgeon and have another conversation?
  14. Don't let this selfish person rain on your parade. You do what is right for you and take the earliest you can that your manager approves. One thing I have learned is that if you keep putting your life on hold for others, they always expect it. It is the summer of Nnoi!
  15. Wow - amazing what you have been living with and didn't know! I wish there was something more that can be done about this. I guess I don't like the part about come back next time and we will do more tests. I would want the tests NOW. Did he say why he wants to wait until Sept? Is there anyway to train your lanky guy to mambo?
  16. YES! My Nut recommended it and I love it.
  17. Well, i don’t eat continuously through the 2 hours. I’ll eat about 1/4 to 1/2 of the bowl in a half hour and stop and then like an hour or so later, I’ll try to eat more. I guess sometimes I do graze through it. But I’m going to try the 30 minute and stop thing. Thanks SleeveinIL I hope it works out for you. Keep us posted.
  18. That is exactly what my surgeon said - defeats the purpose of the sleeve. So I do 3 meals a day and a protein snack in the afternoon as I am working out 60-90 min a day right now. I need the extra boost so I don't feel sick.
  19. If you are only updating your weight, you can do it at the bottom right side of the forum pages in the together we have lost box. Just pop in the new weight and your ticker is automatically updated. Now if you need to make additional changes then you have to choose the ticker from the drop down associated with your userid in the top right. Choose ticker and then Edit.
  20. Just sharing something my doctor told me, stop eating after 30 minutes, even if you haven't finished what you think you should be eating. I am not sure if others have received this same guidance. I think I would be sick too if I ate for 2 hours straight!
  21. Your mind and body has surely taken a lot of hits over the years. You sound like you have a great attitude and a don't give up spirit. That will get you through all of this back to the losers' bench soon. Hang in there and keep us posted of your journey.
  22. This is a wonderful thing to celebrate. What an inspiration for me. Congrats.
  23. Congrats! Have a safe surgery and a speedy recovery.
  24. This is something to think about for sure. As I am losing I am seeing wrinkles on my face that I NEVER had before. I used to joke about not showing my age because I kept stretching my skin. Well that has finally caught up with me as I lose weight and my forehead has these new lines I need to adjust to seeing. The rest of me isn't thin enough yet to compare to my 20s but I can see that our focus can change for sure. I am not the woman I was before, I am the improved version, wrinkles, bumps and all.
  25. You've got this! See you on the losers' bench.
