    I don’t dump

I don’t seem to dump. I haven’t tested it out by going carb crazy or anything but I can have a piece or two of dark chocolate or some starchy veggies and nothing happens. Not that I want it to happen but it’s an added incentive to not eat junk.
  2. Sometimes when I eat I get congested and have too blow my nose. About 2 min later I vomit. Anyone else get this? Sometimes I get a hiccup that is my cue to stop, other times I go right to the runny nose.
  3. Full feels different now. Too full caused pain almost in between my boobs. I’m having trouble telling the difference between full and being sore from surgery. How does full feel for everyone?

    3 months post-op

I'm 3 months post-op and things are ok. I've hit a plateau with my weight loss (which I know happens) but now I'm wondering if I'm actually not eating enough, my plateau has lasted a month. I get 600-700 calories a day and over 90 grams of protein. How many calories did everyone get in at 3 months post-op? I have an appointment with my surgeon next month but until then I'm just curious. Thanks

    3 months post-op

They are so frustrating!!!!!! I know my body is still changing, I lost half a shoe size in the last month and my ankles are smaller, but I really miss seeing that weight fall off.

    Post Surgery

Just keep sipping. Like GettinSkinnywithit said, set reminders. I had them on my phone and my computer at work so every 10min I'd take a sip. It took all day but it got easier by the end of the third week. Good luck!
  10. I'm a little over 2 months post-op and I have plateaued. I know it is normal and the weight loss will start again but it is so frustrating. I lost 40 pounds in the first 2 months and now I'm losing and gaining the same 5 pounds. I'm following my plan, working out, drinking water so I know it will kick in again but until them....argh. My hair has also started thinning. I was told it happens around 6 months post op but mine started around 2 months. Anyone else have it start that soon?
  11. Hi. I’m 1 month post op today. No major issues so far but last night and today I have a sharp pain at one of my incision sites. It’s the upper right side. I have a call into my surgeon but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Thanks

    Type 2 Diabetics

What was your sugar like after surgery? Since getting home I range from 85-114. No insulin or metformin. Does it get lower over time? I’m really hoping I stop getting readings over 100 (unless I’ve just eaten).

    Anyone repulsed by sugar now?

    Yes. 100%

    Watery Diarrhea?

My surgeon told me to expect weirdness for about 3 months given dietary changes and healing.

    Tight pouch days

Some days water and protein shakes go down fine. Other days it’s a struggle. This am even small sips of my protein shake are making me gag and it’s taken me almost an hour to get down half. Is this normal?

    Tight pouch days

Broth seems to always go down easy for me. Almost too easy. I love the slush idea. Thanks!

    Puréed Food Diet

My program said no to baby food. They told us that it didn’t have enough protein and had too many carbs. I haven’t looked at a label though.
  18. It wasn’t fun. That lasted for a few days after surgery. No issues since then. Things aren’t “normal” but they are moving. I think all the water and walking is what is keeping me from getting constipated.
  19. I have trouble telling when I’m full. I go slow and stop when I burp or hiccup. Water and broth go down super easy and don’t cause that so ineatch the clock with those and takes sips every two minutes.
  20. They had me drink 2 bottles of magnesium citrate the day before surgery. That stuff kept working for days.
  21. Redheads do need more painkillers, etc. it’s been proven that we have a higher tolerance to pain meds and anesthesia. Talk to your team about it. I did and my anesthesiologist was aware of that weird redhead fact. For post op I needed help to feed my animals and clean. My mom would come by and do chores for me. At a week and a half out I can do most things except lifting heavy things and too much pushing and pulling. But my first day home I could do dishes, wipe down counters, etc. I really just listen to my body and if it hurts I don’t do it. I know some people need help walking and getting up and down but I didn’t. I just had to go slow. You will need naps throughout the day though. Healing plus the lack of calories really does wear you out. It gets better everyday. I’m out of work for 4 weeks but that’s only because my post op appt to get cleared for going back isn’t until week 4. I honestly feel like I could have gone back this week. I do have a desk job. Do you have pre op support groups as part of your program? If so, bring your family so they can hear stories from others or make them come to a meeting with your surgeon so they can hear what you can and can’t do from the dr. Good luck!
  22. So I have been starving and I’m at a week and a half post op. I agree with Fluffy, drink drink drink. Are you allowed low cal, low fat geek yogurt? Even a third of one really fills me up. I’m also learning to differentiate Head hunger from real hunger which is very hard. Broth really helped me with the hunger. It felt like more than just fluid.

    Home from 10/29 Surgery

I’m feeling good right now but I am super tired. I get up at 5am and am up and as active as possible until about 10ish when I need a nap. Trying not to nap for more than an hour though. I do get a second wind around 8pm and am having trouble falling asleep. Today is the first day I’m actually hungry. My plan has me on liquids for another 6 days but I’m so ready to try an egg!

    Home from 10/29 Surgery

I feel pretty good right now. I’m walking a lot and doing what I can around the house. I am tired all the time and take two naps a day. One of my sites started leaking a lot so that has been annoying. I still have pain if I do too much or get up to fast but today I didn’t take anything for pain and was ok.

No no. 2 in 2 weeks

I’d call your doc. My surgeon did tell me to expect my bowels to be all over the place for the first few months. Are you passing gas?
