I always cringe when I see this factoid put out there. Protein absorption and synthesis happen at different rates for everyone. A 120 lb individual will have protein different absorption rate than a 230 lb individual. The 30 gram number is just an average rate of absorption from whatever sample was used. All of that being said, any protein above the one hour absorption threshold doesn't get discarded or turned into fat. It is still being digested for use. The body will process all the protein ingested. Any protein in excess of the necessary amount for synthesis could be excreted through urination or converted into fat.

So tonight was my first time dining out w. My family.. we went to a local restaurant. I was excited but nervous..
I ended up ordering shrimp tacos. W. A side of steamed veggies..
I removed the taco wrap and ate the grilled shrimp and shredded cheese. There was three tacos. I ate the shrimp and cheese out of two of them and brought 1 home. Ate most of the veggies except the carrots. They were the hard whole ones so I was nervous about those.
I feel I may have a tiny bit more then 4 oz. But I really didn't have a lot today food wise so I didn't feel so bad.. I do feel a bit full and was nervous I was gonna be sick but home now and feeling ok..
I'm nervous for v.day. my husband and I want to go out to dinner and I don't know how that will go.and what about having 1 glass of wine for a special occasion???

I know in my discharge papers, it says go to the hospital if your incisions are bright red... jut go in and get it checked on

A leak test wasn’t required unless i was to say something felt funny or etc, but... i am soooo happyyyy i lost 10 pounds prior to surgery. My dr was The best. Dr Gellman at LIJ. I love him until forever

Everything is going well, it’s just, when im hungry, im realllyyy hungry. It feels like I’m pregnant, but once i drink my shake or tea or Soup, I’m fine again until the next 15 mins again lol. I take in about 2 ounces in a cup and it’s day 3. I can’t wait until the purée stage to eat some tuna and crackers and other fun things.

Try very fluffy scrambled eggs (1 egg, 1 tbsp milk). Or tuna with mayo in a food processor. Those things gave me the "chew" fix I needed when I was in your shoes.

I'm already on that stage .. it's so funny to me how everyone has different foods that are allowed per each phase. Phase 2 for me is thicker Soup, but still runny cream of wheat, yogurt, Jello , pudding ,things like that.. I want like chewy mouth texture food.. ughh..

If you need food....and you're hell bent to cheat....pick something from the next stage of your approved diet,
Like...oatmeal, cream of wheat, strained canned cream Soup, or sugar free pudding.
I would shoot for bland at first.
And of course, the best thing to do is stick with your program as written.
Have been there, and felt your pain.

Omg... I'm 8 days out still on the full liquid phase.... and all I can think about is pizza, cheeseburgers, tacos, Pasta, omg..
I know I can't have it and I know that I did this weight loss surgery for a good reason but the food us like a drug... I need it.. I want it.... help me....!!!
( being a bit dramatic but honestly this is how I sound in my head) .

I know I can't eat them I can seriously hurt myself.. so I know that is what is holding me back and the main reason on why I needed to have this surgery cause I couldn't control myself.. but seriously this is all I'm thinking about.....

No plastic surgery, I got a little skin but just looks like a 43 year old dudes skin...Nothing crazy..
