I don’t know why but I’m not excited yet. I’m a big wimp, so worried about the post-op pain. Hope some of your excitement will rub off on me!

I too am worried about the post-op pain but know it will be short lived. If anything I am more concerned about knowing how to live right afterward. I am excited thinking about being skinny, looking in my closest of black clothes and actually find something I WANT to wear and can fit into that has color and style. Don't worry too much on the little things and think about all the good things that will come with having the surgery. I am pretty sure that will get you excited :-)

  2. Was thinking of cashing out some of my 401k as well. What’s the penalty and fees? And if you don’t mind, approximately how much did you cash out? We too have a pension for retirement.

Thanks so much GrammyLulu for the info. I planned on calling my 401k and getting more information but it’s nice to be somewhat prepared before hand! Again, truly appreciate it!

  3. Hi,
A search turned up JFK Med center for a location that has a Bariatrics dept. If you do a search on local groups up that way more more info might come up. If you've got any pre-op questions etc feel free to respond or pm. Where you're getting the procedure might have one available as well.

Thanks for the tips. Yes my surgeons office offers many post-op classes which is one reason I choose them. However it’s a 40 minutes drive and with work, little one, and just life I would love to find something closer.

  4. Yes!! Let’s help each other thru this ! I would def like to keep in touch as we go thru the diff phases. I went to see my surgeon today and we went over my pre-op bloodwork etc ... happy to say everything is fine [emoji4] I go Friday for an educational class and then I’m ready for surgery day I am sticking to a low carb/high Protein diet for the next couple of weeks ( I’m going to have one “last supper”) and then I need to do a liquid diet 3 days prior to the surgery (which is the Super Bowl [emoji20]) But that’s ok ! I’m excited to get started ! Do you need to do any special diet prior to the surgery ? What Protein Shakes will you be using ?

It’s getting real isn’t it! I bought some Premier Protein (at Sam’s 25% off) on Friday to give them a try. Not bad. I don’t have to do any special diet however i am watching what I eat but allowing myself treats when I come across something I won’t be able to have later.

  5. I’m getting the sleeve at Delray Med Center. I just went for my pre op and gained 4 pounds from the holidays. They didn’t say anything I can’t believe it’s 3 weeks away ! I have been waiting a long time to do this Where are you getting your bypass done ?

Hello Sunn. We are neighbors, I’m in Boynton. I am scheduled Feb 16 in Coral Springs, sleeve. I would love to keep in touch as we go through this amazing change together.
