Grrr, it won't let me edit that post, so sorry for the ghost post! What I was TRYING to say is that I just noticed the other day that my seatbelt is looser and my stomach isn't as close to the steering wheel anymore!

MIne started a couple weeks ago. I bought a Biotin and collagen Shampoo from Target and got some hair/skin/nails Vitamins, so hopefully I can minimize the damage, as my hair was already thin to start with.

One thing I don't like about losing weight: I'm losing my boobs, too! They were already fairly small for my size (barely a C cup at 400+ pounds is not exactly substantial), and now they're even smaller -- and, most annoyingly, FLATTER. Got a new bra and had to get a B cup, which is ridiiiiiiiiculous to me. Who on earth needs a B cup at 350+ pounds?!?! Me, apparently. I hope they don't get any smaller!

Yes, they found the leak before they closed me up (laparoscopic), so they fixed it right away. Have had no other issues since.

My surgery (bypass) ended up being six hours (had expected three) because of a leak that had to be repaired. I was in the recovery area for nine hours, not because of any issues with ME but because the hospital had a shortage of rooms available. So keep in mind that even if everything with your surgery/recovery goes well, you could be in the recovery area longer than expected due to other factors!

My husband and I went for a 3.5 hour car ride in the beautiful country area we live in. It was a great day, long talks and lots of positive thoughts and feelings. We talked about a ton of stuff and he told me he was still scared about my surgery but he now understand a whole lot more and realized I have to do it or I am going to not be around when we are old and gray in our double rocker watching the world go by. ( YES HE GETS IT).

We stopped at a small cafe for a late lunch. He ordered his normal cheeseburger, fries and soda , I ordered a grilled chicken breast with no oils , added spices and asked for a vegetable melody instead of mashed potato’s and gravy. I was told that I could not have any substitutions. Ok so I asked them to just put the veggies and meat on one plate and the mashed potato’s and gravy on a second plate. OMG you would have thought I was holding a gun to a babies head. I was told sorry but that is a substitution can’t do it. OK let’s try this a different way ( I am now getting a little prickly) I ask can you just put it all on one plate and bring me a to go container? I could but your still substituting veggies , WHAT i added them as a side I said . Now she has turned to my husband and said I think you need to help your wife understand we don’t do substitutions here. Chris is so dumb struck by this comment as am I I just looked at her and said cancel the whole order we’re leaving . I went to the rest room to just wash my hands and throw some cold Water on my over heated head , my hubby was still sitting at the table. I walked up to him and he handed me a paper folded in half . It was a order pad slip with a note when you want to be with a real woman give me a call she had signed it and left her number. My husband had written across it 3 times SORRY NO SUBSTATION’S. My wife is 10x times the woman you will ever be . And he signed it Very Happily Married . It made me cry very happy tears of joy.

I love that man so much.

I knew he was behind me every step of the way but that made me realize he isn’t behind me he is right beside me walking at the same speed as I am, and he will always be there with me.

I’m weighed in today and I’m proud and humble to say that I’m down 102lbs. It’s been the best 4 months ever. I’m so excited to continue to accomplish my goals. Thanks for being apart of my journey. Xoxo

    Hey ladies! Newbie here! 😊
Like many of you, I am in a six-month pre-op program. I’m only two months in, so my surgery - the sleeve - will most likely be in October 2018. So far I have met with my surgeon and had a session with a dietician.
My starting weight on 4/26/18 at my consultation with my surgeon was 398 pounds. My current weight today (5/27/18) is 406.4 pounds (also my highest weight).
I just wanted to take a minute to say hello and introduce myself. I look forward to supporting each other throughout our individual journeys! 😊

Yes! I would like a foot tattoo of a molting snake to commemorate my adventure. I have an inspiration photo from google that is somewhat loosely similar to what I would like the artist to design - particularly the intertwining and the white, lacy molted skin. But I'd like a much more colorful snake and obviously the size and shape of the two snakes would have to be fit to the top of my foot. I really prefer to let the artist take over as much as possible, I feel my pieces are truly unique and a sort of bond of trust between me and the artist. I know most people are way too a-n-a-l (sorry, trying to avoid filters haha) and want to control what it looks like which I totally understand, cause it's going to be on your body forever, after all! But anyway, yes, I definitely want a tattoo in honor of this huge life change.

Home now! I can definitely see why I wanted to recover at Mom's. It's so difficult to stop myself from taking care of my husband and stuff around the house just by second nature or unconsciously. Unfortunately despite not helping with unloading the car, I did enough running around - including unthinkingly bending over to vacuum with our little handheld vac - that my belly started protesting again. Not quite as loudly or painfully as a few days ago, so I'm still happy about my progress, but enough for me to know I need to sit down for a bit and keep taking it easy. So my husband (I guess I'll call him Mr. Green for ease of readability in the future) is unpacking as best he can and loading up the fridge with my shakes and Protein waters. Love him
It's so good to be home! Thanks to the holiday, Mr. Green and I have the next two full days to be together in the quiet - no one working from home, no cats running around. Just the two of us. So happy!
Sorry for the endless posts. I'll just keep shouting into the void here, it's nice to journal and maybe it will help someone some day.

It's slower now than it was at first (I averaged 10 pounds a week for the first three weeks), but I'm still averaging 3.5-4 pounds a week (though there are good weeks and bad weeks).

You're younger than me (by 8 years), but weight/height wise, you're about the same size I was when I had surgery in February -- I was 413 pounds and am 5'2.5". You can do it!

I talk to my mom and my husband and took some pain meds and I'm feeling much better. I am going home without the cats on Saturday, and then my husband will drive me back up next Friday for the 2-week appointment and we'll stay a night or two then my parents will help us move the cats back in.
I'm going to text my therapist tomorrow for an appointment next week (yay for calling an Uber to take me there & back) and I might see if I can get my antidepressant in a liquid formulation.
With this plan in place I'm going to focus on the positives, keep my eyes on the prize, and focus on my health and recovery. I'm getting stronger every day, I have no issues with vomiting, nausea, or difficulty getting liquids down, I have a great support team, the pain meds help me feel better, I'm sleeping well, lots to be thankful for.

Hi all, joining the party. When I was 21 I found myself at 305 and it freaked me out, and I went on a severe diet. I dropped 112 pounds in a year, but after I met my husband and quit smoking I was back up to 305. And then marriage added another 72! My highest was 377 in 2011. From 2011-2017 I was able to get down to 315, but I kept bouncing back and forth from 335 to 315. When I decided to start the sleeve journey I was 333. On my surgery day, 4/27/18, I was 303, and nearly 4 weeks post op I am 278.
I question my choice constantly. I am discouraged by the 3 week stall, I miss food, I hate the nausea and the heartburn and all the pills. I am super tired. I know a lot of people regret their sleeve the first month. I just hope to get out of this funk soon.
    Here is my progress.

    I'm here, I'm here!
When I initially started the process three years ago (this week, actually), I was at 416. Lost some, gained some, then switched programs, started my new program, gained some more at first (I wasn't the best at eating on-plan pre-op) and had my highest weight at 427.4 in January. Surgery weight was 413. Down to 354 now, 13 weeks post-op.
