Maybe we'll be surgery twins, got postponed, thought it would be next week but I have to have an Upper GI with contrast, surgeon wanted it. They were supposed to fax my gastroenterologist so I could get it done locally. That was yesterday, called doctor#2 office, doctor#1 hadn't faxed anything so I didn't get it done while I was out today. Come on come on let's all get with the program. I'm not getting any younger. My surgeon says I'm twice as big as I should be for my frame. Shoot that's nearly a quarterback I've been lugging around. Doubt I lose that much but I'm gonna give it a try. Keep on with the excellent hydration, it helps in the long run. Do they know which variety of stones they were? Sometimes you have to modify your diet further or go on some medication. Well Lilymunster its good to hear from you. You are going to get thru this trial by fire, you've quit smoking, good girl, thats an excellent first step. Now that calorie restriction, 1500 is not a bad level, I know you can do it. I've been on 1000 and 1200 before. Remember lean meat or other protein, fruits a n d vegetables. Minimize bread and starchy carbohydrates if you can't cut them completely. Get plenty of fluids, its not too soon to get in 64 oz daily. Thats what they'll expect from you,post surgery. No sweetened drinks like sodas, colas ,root beer, Dr Pepper, you get my drift. Some doctors even make you give up,coffee and tea. 1.caffeine is a stimulant and a diaretic. 2. A lot of people add cream and sugar to them-both no no Try to get enough rest, try to do daily exercise, it will,make you stronger and a stronger patient will be a healthier patient. Plus if You're out walking or other exercise you won't be so tempted to sit and eat. Take the advice of an older fat woman, you don't want to be worn out and worn down. Hi Chris..I'm 72 5ft8in 323lb down from a high of 355, BMI close to yours. Resident grandma of Bariatric Pal since I'm older than dirt. Should be having RnY...early-mid March unless a miracle happens this month. Mother to 3, 2 living, my son who I call Tomkitten on here and his older sister known as RD, short for Rotten Daughter. She lives 7/8 mile from me. After not speaking to me for 6 months her best friend died of a heart attack Christmas . She started calling and texting me, Will it last?Don't know, she should know I love her cause I've told her repeatedly over the years,,i just don't like some of her past actions. I've been fixing Tomkitten things I don't like or allergic to, helps a little but not much. Since my surgery got postponed (dang it) i,could in theory,go back to regular but I've made such strides cutting back and even lost a little weight, don't want to regain even a single pound. I have stuffed animals the right size so will take one of them. When I had my gallbladder out in the bad old days(30+ years ago) when everything was open incisions I took a chicken pillow, about the size of a couch throw pillow. Chickie became my best friend for a while, try sneezing or coughing with a 5-6 inch incision. Hurts enough you'll confess to things you didn't even do! Oh elforman I love it,i really do. I'm having one of those days myself, my surgery got postponed once again. Bariatric surgeon was supposed to fax local gastroenterologist so I could get upper GI with contrast done locally. Was supposed to occur yesterday, doctor#2 says doctor#1 hasn't faxed anything yet. Was gonna get it done today if the order was in, now I have to make another trip out on another day. Seems like I change my schedule for them but they are. inflexible. Far as I know that's the roadblock in my way, to anyone. else it would,be a mere speed bump. But it's my verdompt speed bump. Some days I think I want the operation more than they want to operate.Threatened that I'm going to invest in a bowie knife, some fishing line and a package of steri strips and,operate on myself . a little vodka or summthin similar and I might not feel any pain.
