Any February Sleevers?
Policeman2345 if you're a 1st responded thank you for your service. Don't be anxious, look how far you've come on this journey, tomorrow is going to be a day of rebirth for you. They will give you relaxing medication before, the common name for the oral is the Don't give A S**** pill, some people get it in a powdered form under their tongue, some in their IV, don't matter because it all works. You'll drop off into a nice peaceful sleep when you wake up you'll be in the recovery room being attended to by techs and nurses. Some people are uncomfortable, many aren't. When it's time you'll go back to your room. I'd like to tell you they'll let you just lie there and rest, not gonna happen. They will have you up and doing laps around the unit. Nah they aren't being mean, they don't want you developing blood clots in your legs and believe you me you don't want them either. I don't envy you being a guy, Foley catheters are nasty enough,in girls, but a guy.- Do I have to draw you a picture of it all or can you mentally see it? You will want that bugger REMOVED. Will it hurt? Well, everybody has a different pain tolerance, one person said it was like being stabbed multiple times, which I guess you really are, another felt bloated, another like too many situps in a row. I'm holding on for my own to my friend Tammy's assesment. She said it wasn't even as bad as the day her 5 year old head-butted her in the belly. He thought he was a Billy goat. See that's why God gave him to her instead of me, I would have amputated his little horn buds before they ever grew. A limb of Satan was Mr Eric Anthony, yes indeed! Slowly each and every day you're going heal, get stronger until you feel better and better. Although there may be stalls along the way you'll lose weight, get thinner and generally be so proud of yourself. Thus ends my little sermon but I hope it helps. Good luck and hugs for tommorrow. I Come From Alabama
Johnnie welcome. A very precious name to me as,it was my late husband's. Son, you have been through the mill, haven't you? I share many comorbities with you but then I'm many years older., Old enough to be your granny or even great- granny. I was 72 the 26th of last December, live smack dab in the middle,of Ohio, mother of 3- 2 living, grandma to 2 beautiful young ladies, 22 and 20 1/2. Younger one is a Sophomore at Ohio State studying to become a forensic pathologist , older one had been married for 2 years, came running back home to her parents, tail between her legs and is in the process of getting a divorce. No great grandbabies there, praise the Lord. That would only made the situation worse, wouldn't it? A little more about me, I should have a RnY early-mid March at Mount Carmel in Columbus Ohio. As the late Tennessee Ernie Ford used to say "Lord willin' and the creek don't rise"! I'm widowed, have been for nigh onto 6 years, will be 6 the 4th of July. My main emotional support is my son, I call him TK or Tomkitten on here but his real 1st name is Bryan. His sister R.D. short for Rotten Daughter lives maybe 7/8 miles away, I see her only when she wants to or when she wants something from me. Not my idea, hers. When she came into this world both grandmothers set out to spoil her,,they competed to see who could shower her with the most gifts. She is now 49 years old feels God asks her permission before the sun comes up,each and every day. So she lives her life and i guess I live mine. Tried to tell her a couple of a months ago i was planning surgery, didn't make no never mind, proceeded to tell me how her left knee hasn't been real right since it was replaced last Fall. Might as well saved my breath., I can offer you friendship, emotional support along your weight loss journey, won't be easy but it will be worth it. If it wasn't I wouldn't be able to do it myself. I think you are not gonna get better without surgical help, and at your age a sleeve would probably be best. You're not gonna be the easiest patient Dr Foreman has ever had, will have to get your situation as stable as possible but I bet he can do it. Hey any time you need to crawl upon my virtual lap, I'm always here. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

April/May 2018 Sleevers!!?
There is a Davinci thread somewhere in the last few days here on Bariatric Pal. I do know your incisions will be smaller and heal quicker than average. And the one person I knew personally said she had a lot less pain than average. Barring a failure of the East Coast power grid the lights won't go out. I drempt one night my surgeon got hiccups, not your worry, robots don't get hiccups. The last person I heard of waking up during surgery was in Readers Digest, ain't gonna happen. You'll go into a nice peaceful sleep, when you wake up you'll have nurses and surgical techs watching over you in recovery. My friend Tammy said her post surgery was less than the day her 5 year old head-butted her in the belly. Thought he was a goat, if he had been mine I would have cut his little horns off before they got bigger. Probably a good thing God didn't send him to me! Hon, you're going to be just fine, I'm certain of it. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Thinking ahead - plastics before having children?
The only problem I could see and it is teensie tiny chance the pressure of a baby inside could give you a hernia in the stomach wall. My own father ended up with a ventral hernia following bowel surgery. Must have been once they split his abdominal muscles they never healed right and rejoined. My children found it entertaining but I felt sorry for my dad. Couldn't ever wear a seat belt for fear of rupturing. Doctors told him in the event of a car accident to curl into a ball b and roll to the floorboards. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm still not sure. What got you past that unsure feeling? Help!
Well the sleep apnea might be a yellow flag but not a show stopper. They might put you in the. ICU or a PCAU after your surgery to,monitor your breathing.Do you have a folder or notebook from, your bariatric program? If so,read it and see if you see anything that doesn't seem covered. I would want to know if he requires a liquid diet presurgery, some doctors do to sirink the size and fatness of your liver, makes it easier to,move out of the way. My own doctor doesn't require it, just a balanced low fat for,the 2 b weeks before. Some doctors move you thru the postsurgical diets fast, some Make you stay on each 2-3 weeks. You probably, already know the sequence, clear liquid[ full liquids/url], soft puree, puree and soft regular. Then after all that at a appropriate time you are on your new regular diet. Ask him if he has weight restrictions, usually 5 to 10 pounds until healed. Are you allowed to bend over? I mentioned that because one of the girls was told she couldn't for 2or 3 weeks. Just play it by ear and I'm sure you'll be fine. You could ask about exercise, but since they get you up soon after surgery walking is encouraged. I know of one person who went to the mall on her way home and walked for 2 hours. I'm surely not that gung go.I'll probably do what I can until I have to sit down and rest but that's just me. Hey update me on anything that happens okay? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

My doctor doesn't do single incision - should I find a new one?
Hmmm I hadn't planned on a bikini at 72 anyway. Besides I'm always cold, my stomach, already looks, due to stretch marks, like the road map of Indianapolis with all the county roads marked. Beauty spots, is that what they are?, Shoot I thought I was just rusting So hand me the Hudson Bay Blanket, I feel a breeze coming on. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Tom Cruise
Attention Creekimp, did he sell, his soul to the Dark Angel? Either that or he has a portrait like Dorian Gray that is doing the aging off in a corner somewhere. If it is makeup 1. What does he,look like without it? 2. Where can I get some? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Proudgrammy's problem is back again
Kathy I was so,much happier when we were simple Time Warner around here. Charter added something to the mix we could have done without. We had. 24 hour weather radar, handy for where I live. We get most of our TV coverage from Columbus but my county is under jurisdiction of the Cleveland Ohio National Weather Service. They took my residential radar away yet our local hospital and, many downtown businesses still have it. When I questioned why i was told it is completely disconnected. Is not, I've seen it with my own little eyes. When I call, them they are in Kentucky, Wisconsin or Illinois and have no clue how to resolve my problem, they have no inkling of what stations I receive or don't receive. So,if Spectrum's booging you up you're one of many. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

April/May 2018 Sleevers!!?
Welcome barbieater- if my conversion kg/lb is correct you and I have about the same goal but I'm starting, out taller and heavier. Maybe 146 kg, it doesn't sound too much better in kg and 172 cm. I am 72 years old, yes above traditional age, I will have a RnY early-mid March at Mount Carmel Hospital in Columbus Ohio. I'm in it to win it, want to spend my remaining years thinner and healthier, Scared, no not a bit, more worried since I've left it so late in my life, will I heal as well? Ah but I'm still committed to making it a success. Watching the Olympics out of the corner of my eye, Chinese ski jumper just did a somersault. Instead of landing upright. Seems not to be hurt. At any rate update us on your weight loss journey as it happens. Your American bariatric friend. ME Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

April/May 2018 Sleevers!!?
First person I've heard of going to Sweden. Belgium, Switzerland, the Middle East, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, we truly are World-wide. Oh I almost forgot Bariatric Pal MX and the other Mexico locations, Canada and my friend LillyBilly who lives on one of the ABC Islands in the Caribbean,( Aruba-Bonaire-Curacao), who's going to Columbia for her surgery. And each of them are precious and have a story to tell on Bariatric Pal. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Is this a PLOM ?
I send balloons to heaven every year on his Angel Day, it was January 11th 10 years ago. Your parents would be so proud of you, you know a portion of them lives on in you. I believe in Heaven and I feel they are watching and smiling at how healthy and strong you have become. Keep on racing in their honor, it's a beautiful memorialization. Any February Sleevers?
Geesh I sure hope not, I get this horrible thought of them standing me up and scrubbing me down with a wire brush or a curry comb. Makes me tingle to think of it, and not in a good way Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
