    December 2017 Gastric Bypass!

On the day of my surgery I was 311 and that was on December 18, 2017. As of May 12, 2018 I am at 210. I'm hoping to go down to 185-190.

    December 2017 Gastric Bypass!

Doctor told me that 5 per week is on the high end, normally people lose about 4 per week. He told me to drink the protein shake and tried eating fish again.

    December 2017 Gastric Bypass!

Hello Everyone, I'm down to 260 pounds from 311 in about two months. I also was stuck at 280 for about two weeks. My issue is that I'm barelly eating anything. Most of the time I'm eating fruits. Mango doesn't go down well, I wonder why? But then basically every other fruit (bananas, apple, oranges, grapes, melon, watermelon) I eat for lunch and dinner. For breakfast I eat a small bawl of cheerio and polly cheese. I tried to chicken, well cook steak and most vegetables but I keep vomiting them a couple of minutes of eating them. The other day I made some broil salmon and I ate some but the following day I tried to eat some left over and I just couldn't keep it down. I wonder when will I be able to eat some other food besides cheerio and fruits.
  4. I would like to know what can I drink besides water and seltzer water (which I don't like). I used to drink soda and orange juice before my surgery.

    December 2017 Gastric Bypass!

How long after you swallow your food do you wait until you take another bite? Even though I bite my food 20-30 times after a while I start feeling nauseated and I just want to vomit. I wait about 2 -3 seconds between the time I swallow and the time I take another bite. I'm barely eating at all, I sometimes only take 3-4 spoons of food and I feel full and not hungry.
  6. My surgery was 24 days ago.

    December 2017 Gastric Bypass!

It has been 3 weeks since my bypass surgery. I lost about 40 pounds since the date of my surgery. I find it weird that after 3 week I'm barely hungry. I sometimes eat 1-2 per day. Today I ate a small bowl of about 3-4 oz of oatmeal and I ate about 80% then at night I had some soup. I would like to know from others if they are going through the same thing as i am? Those who had the surgery more than 3 weeks ago did your get hungrier each week or it just stayed the same. Also I'm looking at what I want to eat, has anyone tried eating cauliflower rice or quinoa? which one should I eat and which one states better? Do you think I should be able to eat it even though it only been 3 weeks since my surgery?

Have you been exercising since you arrived from the hospital? how many minutes or hours per day? I lost 24 since the surgery but in the last 2-3 days I have not lost any weight. I'm still doing my liquid diet.

    December 2017 Gastric Bypass!

I also had my surgery on 12/18, I have very little pain and I lost 24 pounds. Im barely hungry during the whole day. I get up and have about half small cup of jello, then broth in the afternoon. and for the rest of the day I have my protein shake. I was also having doubt about 3-4 days after getting out of the hospital. But now I'm sure I did the right thing. i can't wait until the next phase in 2 weeks when I can start eating something else.

    December 2017 Gastric Bypass!

How long after surgery did you return to work? do you have a sedentary job ? did you have pain while working? I read online, how some people are going back 2-4 weeks after the surgery. I'm trying to get an idea how much discomfort I will be when I do go back.

Try Muscle Milk powder, they have numerous flavor and two scoops equals to 32g of protein. I was on Isopure but the taste was horrible.

    December 2017 Gastric Bypass!

My doctor told me that if I'm sick especially any cough or cold they will reschedule the surgery. They are not going to take a chance that something goes wrong if you are sick. If you are going to another country to have the surgery you shouldn't have the surgery within 3-4 days of arriving. My doctor also told don't get on a plane for the first two weeks after surgery. I forgot what is call, but when you are in a plane at very high altitude your red blood cells are moving at faster rate and it can take up to 72 hours for it to clear. Just be very careful most Doctor from third world countries only care about making money. I've seen stories of people who have gone to third world countries for surgeries and then come back in a worst state then when they left.

    December 2017 Gastric Bypass!

Hello everyone. I new to the site. I'm 5'11 and I was 311 when I went in for a Gastric bypass on December 18,2017. I was in the hospital for two nights. I was in pain for only 2-3 hours after waking up. I was able to walk the following day. One thing you want to make sure you bring an smartphone, ipad, or something to do because it will seem you are in there forever. I checked my weight 5 days after the surgery and I was at 292. I wasn't hungry must the first 2 -3 days after coming home from the hospital. Now that I almost have a week. I do get hungry but not as before the surgery. Having broth almost all the time is really getting to me. I can't wait until I start eating other type of food. I'm really going to miss Rice and pasta. My goal is to be at 185- 190 hopefully by next year. I wish everyone good luck in their journey.
