    Where is my period?

I’m curious when my will start again. I wasn’t due for another week before surgery (1/9) but the trauma of the surgery kick started it and because of the blood thinners they gave me, it lasted almost a week when it’s normally only 2days at the most. I’m sure there’ll be all kinds of changes happening now. “Losing in Ohio” RNY Surgery: 1/9/2018 HW: 319 SW: 305 (Pre op mtg.) CW: 287 (1/24)

    Back to Work

I just went back yesterday after about 2-1/2 weeks off. I have a desk job so it went pretty good except I hit my stomach incision twice when scooting up to my desk. Have to be more careful next week. “Losing in Ohio” RNY Surgery: 1/9/2018 HW: 319 SW: 305 (Pre op mtg.) CW: 287 (1/24)
  3. I too have had Metabolic Syndrome for several years. I am 2 weeks post op and will do my blood work for my 2 month appointment. Can’t wait to see how the numbers change. My doctor did take me off my blood pressure medicine the day before surgery and yesterday at my 2 week appointment it was the best it’s ever been. Totally in the normal range [emoji106].

    Exercise / abdominal

I just had my 2 week post op with my doctor and she cleared me to start exercising. In fact she was adamant I start sweating and not just by walking. I have no weight restrictions, she just told me to listen to my body and if it starts to hurt to stop. (Don’t try to do 50 lbs bicep curls [emoji1]). I’m still going to start a little slow because my incisions aren’t completely healed shut yet and I don’t want open them up. I was surprised because I thought I would have to wait 6 weeks but she said there was no reason to as long I used common sense.

    Sharp pains when eating??

I’m 2 weeks post-op and the first week I also used the medicine cups for my liquids (water & shakes) to get a better feel for proper sipping. Now I can drink from the bottle or glass with no problem because I know how big a sip to take.

    Omeprazole intake

My doctor has me continuing to take it for 2 months after surgery (1/9) just while I’m still healing. He did take me off my blood pressure medicine immediately so I don’t mind still taking one little pill for another 2 months.
  7. I just met with my doctor this week (surgery on Tuesday) and he says I should weigh around 150 for my height (I’m 300 now), but wants me to strive for losing 100 pounds to start. I’ve always been heavy so I have no idea what is a good weight for me but I want to get as close to 150 as possible as a personal goal.

    Looking

You can contact Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green. That is where I’m having my surgery next week (through insurance though) but I know they are good about working with people.

    January bypass buddies??

I’m on day 3 of mine and am starving too. Lol. I’m really trying to focus on other things and remember it will be worth it in the end.

    January bypass buddies??

I’m set for 1/9. My preop meeting with surgeon is next Thursday 1/4. Getting a little nervous. I’ve never had surgery before but I’ve got to do this. I’m so tired of being overweight. My nephew is getting married in May and I’d love to lose at least 75lbs by then. We’ll see.
