  1. I got mine yesterday, too. I got nauseous after drinking some Gatorade. I think I drank too much. Try smaller sips, maybe?
  2. Got my sleeve yesterday. Had a rough night with a lot of pain and nausea. Not a lot of gas pains like I thought I’d have, but I am burping a lot. My nurse has been great with bringing me pain/nausea meds. How’s everyone else doing?
  3. I bought a variety pack of soups from BariatricPal. They’re pretty tasty and filling.
  4. Mine’s at nine. Good luck to us! [emoji173]️[emoji173]️[emoji173]️
  5. What about your hair? Is it growing back? That’s one of my biggest concerns. I’m taking a lot of biotin. Surgery tomorrow!
  6. I am! I’ve been jumping through hoops, and now it’s here!
  7. I did liquids for a week, then clear liquids two days before. I’m surprised I’ve done such a good job! The liquid diet with protein shakes was ok. It really made me realize that a lot of hunger was in my head.
  8. The six months were fine! It’s the two days on a liquid diet that are killing me! Haha! Going in on the 28th. Good luck to you! Let me know how it goes!
  9. How exciting! Mine is on 12/28. We’re gonna rock this!
  10. Ok, I’ve been thinking about getting a Tesco, but the monthly vitamin disks are $40 each! Do you think it’s worth it? Let me know, please. I’m very interested.
  11. Two for me. Once I got used to the protein shakes, I have to start on clear liquids! Ugh! I’m dying down here. I picked up a Isopure clear protein drink at GNC. It’s so gross, but it has protein. Maybe I’ll get another one. My tummy is growling. ? I’m at my mom’s house, so she can take care of me, too!
  12. I get the same thing. I want to day, “it’s none of your d*** business,” but I usually just smile and say that I just decided to. Even though I’ve been working on it for three years!
  13. I’m two days away, too! Clear liquid diet for me! No fun!
  14. I teach 4th grade, and there’s always food around. Chips, candy, you name it. And I LOVE food. If I can stick to the pre-op liquid diet, anybody can. I’d punch somebody for a taco today, but I know one day, I’ll get to have another delicious taco! Looking forward to it!
  15. You sound like me! Lol! I’m on day 5 of my liquid diet. Down 10 lbs. I have cheated a couple of times. I ate some almonds one day. Swapped two shakes for some tomato soup. Had a cucumber and some cheese. I start clear liquid tomorrow for my sleeve on Dec. 28, so please pray for me! Good luck to you, and Merry Christmas!
  16. I got some V8 for when I’m tired of sweet drinks. Any other suggestions besides broth?
  17. I’m the 28th too, Twins! I had to do lean meats and veggies last week. Started liquid diet Saturday. I’ve done pretty good at with the hunger craving. I get tired of the sweet shakes, so sometimes I’ll have a V8 instead. I’m cheating right now by eating some cucumbers. I just need the crunch! (They’re 95% water, right?) ??‍♀️
  18. I saw that at the grocery store, but didn’t get it. I got some low sodium chicken broth, and some high protein legume and veggie broth. The legume and veggie broth was GROSS! The V8 has saved me. I can warm it up and pretend it’s soup! Merry Christmas.
  19. I’m only on day three of liquid diet. I’m chewing A LOT of sugar free gum. Good luck to you! Very hard during the holidays. I chose not to go to my family gathering bc of all the temptations.
  20. I’m a state employee and have BCBS of Mississippi. They’re probably pretty similar. I had to be on a doctor supervised diet (with monthly weigh ins) for 6 months, see a nutritionist and a psychiatrist. Make sure you go see the dr. EVERY MONTH! I missed one month by a few days and had to start all over.
  21. I’ve been drinking low sodium V8 when I get tired of the sweet drinks. I drink flavored waters, light Powerade, diluted juice, and SO MUCH WATER! My surgery is on the 28th. It’s hard during the holidays, but at least I can start my year off right! Good luck!
  22. I’m sorry your friend isn’t making it easy for you. I’m lucky to have friends who are very supportive, telling me how awful the pre-op diet is and how hard it must be to stay away from food. However, they do talk about going out to eat in front of me. I do wish I could go, but I don’t expect them to do without. Just like Dave said - this is my choice, not theirs. I’m on day 3 of my liquid diet, and I’d kill for some tacos! But I’ll get to eat them again. This liquid thing isn’t going to last forever! Good luck!
