TexasMommy80 got a reaction from FlyAwayFree in Post your progress pics!
I am 3 months out and down 32 pounds from the date of my VSG. I have another 30 to lose to hit goal.
My boyfriend hasn't seen me wear fitted clothing in years because of my weight. We are going on vacation in two weeks so I bought this dress to wear. I'm not sure I am ready to wear it yet, but I am trying to gain the confidence for it. [emoji41]

This sounds like my "diet" and my doctor is completely on board!

TexasMommy80 got a reaction from summerset in Why I eat baked potatoes, brown rice and whole grain bread
Seriously, this post is like beating a dead horse. Is there a way I can stop getting notifications for it? Someone simply said what worked for them, and after rereading it, I see nothing that tells me that she was telling anyone else that what they were doing was wrong. This is exactly why at 6 months post vsg, I am ready to say good riddance to BariaticPal. It has become nothing but people arguing over the most trivial things.

TexasMommy80 got a reaction from GreenTealael in Volume and calories consumed daily
I am 6 months out and now eating 1400-1600 calories a day. I also work out 4 to 5 days a week, and burn on average 200-250 calories. I started at 241 and I was 229 on the day or my surgery. Today I am 182 and i am struggling to lose, but I have lost a lot of inches. I am 5'6 and 38 years old. Honestly, I would love to lose more but I am also content where I am. I am so tired of focusing on the scale though because I know that is the number that matters to the doctor.

TexasMommy80 got a reaction from MargoCL in Starting weight 225 lbs
I an 5'6, 38 years old and was 229 on the day of my VSG. I lost 47 pounds in the first 5.5 months, but have been stalled for the last month, at a weight of 182. I too was afraid of losing too much weight, but believe me, when your weight falls, the weight begins to fall off at a slower pace. I would be perfectly content at my current weight, but I really want to get to 170. It is going to take a long while, but slow and steady wins the race.

TexasMommy80 reacted to Bryn910 in Birth Control Options after VSG
You can go on any form of birth control after the sleeve luckily.
When I had my sleeve I was on the pill and loved it! Now with my bypass my options were IUD, Nuva ring or implanon. I chose Nuva ring. I have not experienced any side effects with the ring, or even weight gain. I am happy with it

TexasMommy80 got a reaction from Frustr8 in Birth Control Options after VSG
I was on the Nuvaring for the past two months. I had no bad side effects except for bloating, and enough of it that my weight increased by 7 pounds while I was on it, and then I lost those 7 pounds within 2 weeks of stopping. I knew it was Water weight because I could feel the bloating, but it was still frustrating. Overall, I just feel better without the extra hormones, so I stopped taking it. We want to have another little one soon anyhow, so I figured that was the best move for me.

TexasMommy80 got a reaction from Wanda247 in Any sleevers without complications over 5 yrs?
I have hardly ever heard of complications that late. I know gerd and leaks happen, but you usually know you have those fairly soon. In fact, my surgeon prefers the sleeve for the long term lack of complications involved.

TexasMommy80 got a reaction from Frustr8 in Weight loss surgery advice needed
Definitely look at your insurance. I know two major carriers changed their supervised diet requirements a few months ago. For example, Cigna no longer requires a supervised diet, when just 5 months ago, they did.

TexasMommy80 got a reaction from AllyJonesVSG in Any updates for 4 months out sleevers?
Oh wow, you are tall! I am glad to see you are going for a weight that you are comfortable with too. The smallest I've ever been is 169, but I carry my weight in the lower body. I had a tiny waist, wore small tops too, but fit in a size 10 jean. LoL it may sound vain, but I dont want to lose my curves, and that is why I will settle with 160-170.
