I will freely admit that i do not deny myself. If i want something that is not really considered good for me i have it. Thankfully my lapband enables me to be satisfied with 2 or 3 bites of the wanted thing. I never let myself feel deprived of something because that leads me to self destructive behavior, and i can tell you two or three bites is just as good as having an entire serving in my book now!
  2. Mark it up as a bad decison and move forward. Your stomach just went through an operation a week ago. Im sure you do not want to risk injury or harm to yourself or your band by pushing it this early in the game. By adhearing to your afterband rules you will lessen your chance of complications down the road. Hang in there eventually you will be able to eat normally once again.
  3. I thought that was a great question and was glad to read the replys. Very helpfull indeed.
  4. Id i recall correctly i think it was gone once i was under 250
  5. I had the same thing and it did go away once i started shedding the pounds.
  6. Wow Jack that post certainly was insightful!
  7. I also am a food addict and am in the process of looking into finding a therapist to find out why i have obsessive thoughts about food. I just want to be one of those normal folks who isnt constantly dreaming and thinking of food. I wonder is it possible? Can someone really make all those thoughts dissapear? While my band certainly is working for me i can honestly say im still the person who wants to eat the entire package of anything. Thank god my band keeps me from doing so.
  8. What a great post! Hip Hip HORRAY for ya!
  9. WOW i must say this post just floored me. I would check out a different doctor to see what his/her view is. I can personally tell you that i have had sugar/milk/alcohol since being banded and im alive an kicking! Ive also never limited myself to 1oz of food. Dear lord who could survive on that. Granted each doctor has different rules and requirements im sure but these sound on the far end of extreme!
  10. I also used Dr. Benavides and have been nothing but happy with the results.
  11. Mtanna.....hi from Mckinney Tx! I also used Dr Benavides and attribute part of my success to having such a great experienced Doctor. Ive been problem free. Good luck in your journey and welcome!
  12. I always just eye-balled the amount of the ricotta cheese but the end result was about 3/4 cup after it was all mixed together
  13. My fills (10 of them) have all taken a few days if not an entire week to kick in. Makes no sense to me but that seems to be the way it goes for me.
  14. One of my faves was taking some Ricotta cheese mixing in a few Tbs of spaghetti sause and a lil shredded mozarella and microwave till hot, stir it all up and u have what tastes like lazagna minus the meat. Very tasta and filling as well.
  15. Hello from Mckinney Texas Donna. Congrats on your super progress. What an uplifting post yours was.
  16. My answer is.....a big.......HELL YES!!!!!!!!!! Id do it all over again in a heartbeat. Ive not had one single issue NONE NADDA. I love my band and i will sing its praises to anyone. With out it i would probably be well over the 400 lb mark by now.
  17. I must confess that i do not count calories nor have i since this progress began. My guess would be at a minimum i eat 1100 calories a day.
  18. im staying on plan today because i just packed the last Ding Dong in kiddos lunch ....so its not here for me to obsessover and eat!
  19. I eat out quite often. Pretty much order what ever i want with the exception of anything bready. I ALWAYS ALWAYS ask for a to go box when they bring the food. Right away i pack up anything beyond the portion im goin to have that way im not tempted to eat beyond control.
  20. AWESOME PROGRESS wtg!! Great photo.
  21. I wanted to be able to go out in public an not have the feeling like i was being stared at for being so huge. I wanted to FIT IN..........fit in restaurant booths, fit in airplane seats, fit in designer clothing and shoes from any store i so desired.
  22. I lost a TON of hair, started losing it 6 months out and continued losing hair for a good 3 months (thank god i had a ton of hair to begin with). I can tell its finally all growing back because i have a ton of short hairs that stick up now. I always got adequate protein and took the required vitamins so my opinion is that is just something us bandsters must deal with.
  23. Im one of those people who are to tight to eat in the morning. Im filled to 10cc in a 11cc band. I eat about a cup if not a lil more then a cup of food at a time 3 times a day. I always make sure to eat my protein first.
  24. I found something called liquid BABY POWDER in walmart not so long ago that worked like a charm. It goes on like a cream but drys into powder form and smells great!
  25. One of my fave mushies was a recipe i found on this site. Its a lil ricotta cheese mixed with some spaghetti sauce and some shredded mozarella. Nuke till warm. Tastes like lazagna and filling as well! I still use it today as a meal after i have fills.
