Mushies Question

I have lost 31 pounds in just 2 weeks. Wow, the fat is melting away. I am just starting week 3. I am at the mushies stage. What all counts as a mushy? I know mashed potatoes and very soft fish but what else can I have.

Great job on losing 31lbs!! That is awesome. I am on the soft solid/mushy food stage and I can have more than I thought. Of course there is the sugar free pudding/jello, cottage cheese, mushy veggies and scrambled eggs. I was also told I could have chili any kind of seafood that is baked or broiled. I'm not sure if you have the morning star brand of soy products in your area but those where on my list also. They have things such as chicken patties, sausage and hamburger patties. Any meat other than the seafood i was told I needed to puree a bit. I did that with some turkey tenderloin the other night and it was very good. Don't forget applesauce and yogurt. Also, I was given the ok on cheeses as long as they are low fat.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Congrats on your wonderful weightloss!

Info from my nut lists the following foods -

Cream of wheat, Cream of Rice, pureed oatmeal - can add unflavored Protein to the cereals

Non-fat or soymilk, plain yogurt, sugar free yogurt, cottage cheese, soft cheese

Pureed, moist, fresh or canned fish, turkey and chicken, tofu, pureed Beans

broth, bouillon, consomme, strained cream Soup made with soy or nonfat milk, bean Soups, tomato soups

Sugar free smooth puddings, custard, Gelatin, popsicles, pureed fruit

poached fish, yellow squash, refried Beans, guacamole, ricotta cheese, corned beef hash, souffle, custard, whipped sweet potato, mashed winter squash, creamed spinach, salmon mousse,

use your imagination. or puree it......

When I was on soft foods I was craving Mexican food so I took fat free refried beans and mixed them with enchilada sauce, a little bit of shredded cheddar cheese and then put a little bit of sour cream on the top. It was delicious and a much needed break from yogurt and eggs!! I also had the usual applesauce, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, cream of wheat, tuna fish, canned chicken (made into a salad like tuna salad)! I only had to do this stage for a week and then I got to eat "real" food so I didn't have to get too creative--but the mexican dish was my fave.:rolleyes2:

One of my fave mushies was a recipe i found on this site. Its a lil ricotta cheese mixed with some spaghetti sauce and some shredded mozarella. Nuke till warm. Tastes like lazagna and filling as well! I still use it today as a meal after i have fills.
