Have you tried the pouch reset? I was looking it up. It's a 3 day reset... you basically go back to liquid Protein and broth in day 1. Then day 2 you add the mushy foods and liquids still. Day 3 you do liquids, soft foods and then a protein rich dinner with veggies

You just figured out your weakness wine! No bueno, you can snack but make sure it's a healthy snack and when eating only eat within the 20 minutes or once you start to feel full stop eating and make sure to wait your 30 minutes before drinking.

I’m on birth control and I haven’t had an issue. I had sex a month after surgery and it was AWESOME!!!! Seriously the weight loss actually increased my sex drive (not that it wasn’t already high). I can do more than before. I did have a hiccup and didn’t use protection. But I did not get pregnant so I believe the pill is the same as it was before.

Awww that's very reassuring. Thank you.
I've always had a high sex drive and after surgery, it got even higher. My husband could never really keep up but I was always completely faithful.
Now we've split (for a completely separate issue) and I'm single again, I still have my high sex drive but now I can see other people etc.
I've made an appointment with the local family planning clinic for advice as it'd be a disaster to end up pregnant at this stage. I just really wanted to know what other people's experiences were as most doctors have no clue about gastric bypass surgery etc.x

How's everyone doing? I am honking along but not losing weight as fast as I liked so I went back to tracking and discovering some nasty little carbs that have mysteriously come back. Hoping to get back on track. I'd like to drop 10 more pounds before I start driving a truck again. At least I am not gaining which is important!

Trust me it will work for u. I had my surgery March 16th and when I was finally cleared to eat solid food everything I ate came back up because I was trying to eat too much. U will get used to it. U will know that you’re full.

It's not a dumb question at all! it's a great question. How does feeling full help someone who is used to eating past feeling full?
First off...it's a serious full feeling. Like...full like after Thanksgiving dinner....after just a few ounces. You feel stuffed. Which is awesome.
But the bad news...is that it will not stop compulsive eating and you CAN overeat until you regain after surgery if you don't work on behavior modification.
Surgery will help a lot to remind you to work on these issues.....but for it to work long term...you need to do the work to change the behavior.
    Great question!

Water is critical to weight loss, our bodies will not process/breakdown fat if there isn't enough water to do so! We really want to see water intake upwards of 128oz a day. It sucks at first, but after you get used to it, it's not much of a problem!

There is no set amount you "should" be losing. Everyone is different.

If you are in a stall, just watch your intakes. Make sure your Protein intake is where it should be, make sure your Water intake is upwards of 128oz of water or more. Make sure you are actually exercising.
Don't focus just on weight, if you are working out you can lose body fat and not "weight".

One month out I had a few sips of wine when I went on vacation.. but I didn’t go overboard. I definitely felt the alcohol faster than usual... then I had my first full glass of prosecco at 4 months and felt tipsy but was sober in an hour...😂

Maybe try a bit of salmon? I could do tuna and salmon on week 4 which helped with that "full" feeling as you always lead with your Protein. Scrambled eggs are also good for that fuller feeling.

Let us know how you tolerate them - just remember to go slow I made a mistake once with scrambled egg and a small bite of toast - apparently didn't chew it enough and couldn't eat another bite. It was not fun - just forgot for a moment to slow down and chew chew chew chew chew (like 29 times!)

Today is my official 30 days post-op - I am down 36 pounds since the start of my journey, 26 pounds in the 30 days post-op. My BMI is now BELOW 40! (Okay, it's 39.9, but that's still below 40 )
I have increased my cardio, walking every single day at least 20-30 minutes at a brisk pace. I have added in other activities - bike riding, light weights, core work - and can really feel and see the difference in both my body and energy level.
I will be taking pictures over the next several months every 30 days and will put out a before/during/after collection once I have reached maintenance.
I hope everyone is doing well - looking forward to hearing your success stories as we walk this path together.

LakeishaNicole got a reaction from porkytits in 2 Weeks away from my last PCP visit
After months of googling information, I finally decided to join this forum. I am soooooooooo excited but very nervous bout getting the gastric bypass. I have Anthem BSBC and it requires 6 months of consecutive weigh-in attempts with my PCP. I am nervous because last month I actually gained 5lbs. Although they said I did not have to lose any weight throughout those visits, I'm afraid that will give them a reason to deny me. Can someone with Anthem insurance let me know how long it took to receive an approval? Was the process smooth for you? My patient advocate said she would send the paper work in as soon as I get the last weight attempt sheet faxed over. I really want to get approved so I can go ahead and have the surgery in January.

I know the back pain from a previous laparoscopic surgery, and also the pain in the upper left shoulder. Hang in there!! Hopefully, it will go away within a few days.
