    How much walking?

I am three weeks post op, and have been cleared for running and swimming (just in time for beach holiday). Check with your Dr, but spin classes should be fine within a week or two. I will be cleared for weights next week.

    Purée foods

My main pureed food is based on cooked (boiled) chicken breast (you can you canned for easy prep). Then I add different spices and liquids to create different meals chicken + sauteed onion + taco seasoning = Tex-Mex night chicken + red pepper + soy sauce = Japanese night can do with tandoori spices, liquid smoke and BBQ rub, etc.
  3. I was drinking protein shakes from the day I got home. My Dr just had me on liquid, not clear liquid, so I had shakes of all flavors during the 2 week liquid phase.
  4. It exactly one week for me before I went. Lack of caloric intake just meant there was nothing to process out.

    Favorite workouts!

My favorite workout is lifting weights. It gets the best results for the amount of time invested. Compound movements (Squats, Deadlifts, Bench Press, Overhead Press) will be most beneficial.

2.5 months post VSG and finally in the 200's!!

Congrats. Keep up the good work.
  7. I existed on alternating meals of chicken broth and protein shakes from day 3 to day 14. I had no issues consuming the protein shakes from day 3.

    PRE-OP DIET

I lost 12 lbs on my pre-op diet. I lost a total of 65 lbs pre-surgery. It is a good idea to get into the habit of both healthy eating and exercise pre-op, so that you can continue to focus on those behaviors after surgery to ensure long term success. The surgery is not a silver bullet, you still need to do the hard work. It is just a tool that helps (significantly), but only if you are committed.
  9. At 65 lbs lost I had one person tell me I looked different, but they couldn't put their finger on how I looked different. At 90 lbs lost, I have had two coworkers ask me if I have lost weight. Started at 380, now at 289.

    Fainting

Just over 2 weeks post op, and I feel light headed often right when I stand up. I am getting plenty of fluids, and it is not my BP (checked). Still don't know why, but it is definitely related to the surgery.

    I have a question?

Do you track your food intake? If not, consider tracking and then you will know if you need to continue with protein shakes. If you are getting enough protein, and hitting your targets without shakes, then you won't need them. Tracking is much better than guessing.

    No problem drinking fluids

Same here. 1 week post op. No problems drinking liquids. No problems swallowing medication in form of pills - didn't have to crush or even break up tablets. Still on liquids, but the doctor's warning that I would have to SIP, SIP, SIP all day because I wouldn't be able to drink has proved unfounded. No issues at all. Which also has be a bit worried.
