  1. Hi All, Congratulations on your upcoming banding dates. I am scheduled to be banded by Dr. Ortiz/Dr. Martinez in TJ, Mexico on April 21. I have researched the lap-band procedure and surgeons for the last year and have no worries about food and life after the band - I feel prepared. My husband is on board and very supportive. My biggest fear is the surgery itself. I am terrified that something will happend and I will not see my husband and beautiful girls again. I know the risks are minimal and Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Martinez have a sterling record, but I am wondering if I am along in my fears?????Are they unfounded????? Thanks for listening! J.
