  1. Thanks for posting an update, its good to get ESG updates as it is still a fairly new procedure. You've had a busy few months, hopefully things settle down for you and hopefully thngs improve for your sister! Nine weeks? You can do it, you have it in you to do what you set out to achieve!

    Surgery date

Wonderful that you have a surgery date, do you have to a pre-op diet?
  3. Hop_Scotch

how often were you told to eat

A body need needs more than 300 to 600 calories over the long term. Just because someone doesn't feel hungry doesn't mean the body is getting sufficient sustenance.

how often were you told to eat

Volume - 1 cup, 1/2 cup etc of food. After about eight months I would have thought that you may need to eat more than 300 to 600 calories a day. Is this what your surgeon or nutritionist recommends?

how often were you told to eat

Only one meal per day? How many calories and volume for that one meal?

    After 1yr my surgery

    Very likely a mistake

    Nausea 3 weeks post op

I am still pre-op so probably won't be any help at all, but I hope you are feeling better soon. Did you speak to your surgeon about this? I would think they would need to be made aware due to the dehyrdration risk.

    First Time (even after WLS)

    A great NSV, well done!
  10. How many of the carbs are sugar carbs? If its most I would say no, but then one (as long as it doesn't lead to more) isn't going to be the end of the world. Perhaps check with your nutritionist or dietician.

    Secret sleevers?

I am travelling interstate for my procedure, and if it wasn't for the fact that my surgeon insisted on having someone with me for 48hrs following the procedure, I wouldn't have told anyone. I asked a friend who has a band to come with me, knowing that out of all my friends and family she would be the one who wouldn't judge etc.

I tried a diet coke today...

Did the air bubbles from the coke make you feel full or bloated?
  13. Just over five weeks now (16/10/2018), I have started to buy sample sizes of different protein products to see what may help get me through the first couple of weeks. I will be away from home up to 7 to 10 days after my procedure, as I am travelling out of state.
  14. At 5ft8 it is not as though you were a 'big' man, but perhaps to her you were. Some women are attracted to bigger guys as they feel the guys are a 'protector' to them. It's not right or wrong, it is what it is, and this may not be issue with your wife. Does she feel you have lost muscle/lean body mass? Do you know why you are hunching over? Is it that she doesn't like the fact that you would appear smallter/shorter than her when you are both out and about? Did you weight train while losing weight?

For all who need a kick up the butt!

May I ask obsessive in what way?
  16. The false tag has been identified as a bug, bariatricpal will work on fixing it.
  17. Hopefully someone who has had wls will chime in, but in case not, I googled and found this https://www.gastricsleeve.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54005 There is a lot more out there, and in case you want to go looking I googled - cold flu tablets after vsg I am guessing though some good old fashioned chicken broth would be great, and if you can stomach it add some lemon and garlic

    Sore throat

I don't have a band so probably not much help. Hopefully it isn't band related and you are feeling better now. Just in case, I assume you are getting plenty of fluids?

    False tag?

I wonder if it means that a post hasn't actually been tagged? Edit: but then the OP in this thread hasn't been tagged and it doesn't have a false tag. Scratch that idea

    More than weight loss

Hello and welcome. So very sorry to hear of the loss of your sister, how devastating for your family. You've been through a lot and are quite resilient. I am still pre-op and my date is not for five weeks so I am not in a position to offer any advice or tips. I wish you well for the 12 Sept, it's not that far away, I imagine you are quite excited and a little nervous at the same time.

    Roller Coasters?!

Hi and welcome, I am still pre-op so hopefully someone post-op will chime in soon. What a great non scale goal to ride a roller coaster, you have lots to look forward to.
  22. Great post, thank you for sharing and well done!

    Coping with emotions

Perhaps it wasn't emphasied enough...you mention stress and anxiety but not severe anxiety and depression. Regardless hormones may well be contributing to your current situation. Anyway not to get off track, I hope there is a resolution for you, I wish you well.

    Coping with emotions

I think you are being a bit harsh, the person who commented is not aware of your severe anxiety and depression. Unfortunately on forums we can never can a full picture when a poster asks a question, vents or seeks reassurance, we reply to the best of our ability.
