    Sounds like it could be an hormonal issue, that is. assuming you are not experiencing dryness anywhere else (mouth, eyes, nose, skin). In any event it may be worthwhile checking in with your doctor to check it out. I don't know your age but is it possible that perimenopause could be the issue?

    Have you spoken with your dietician/nutritionist about the watermelon? What is on your post op guidelines to eat at this stage aside from water and shakes? Liquid only soups? Broths? What other fluids?
  3. I don't get dumping syndrome as such, but if I have too much sugar I know within about 10 to 20 minutes, light nausea and something like the shakes but not the shakes. I say light nausea but its not the typical nausea...not sure how to describe it.

    Did you doctor prescribe anything for cramps? When I had my ESG I was given buscopan in my meds kit. It helped a little plus a heat pack can also be helpful. If you clear liquids are cold try warm clear liquids, sometimes people can tolerate warm over cold more.
  5. Definitely worth checking out with your doctor. Could be stress, could be tachycardia, may be nothing, but you won't know until you've seen your doctor.
  6. Regardless of weight loss surgery, 7 days a week doing weights seems a little over the top (unless you a doing some type of combo upper/lower splits). While cleared two weeks post op, it doesn't mean you should be doing the same routine and particularly the same weights as prior to surgery, even if you felt okay. You aren't getting a lot of nutrition and you are unlikely to be able to sustain the intensity Take a step back, give your body time to heal. Do some walking for another couple of weeks, not big power walks. Consider moderation. At the most for weights two to three days per week per muscle group for a few months once you get back into weights. Don't burn yourself trying re-establish pre op exercise baselines immediately.

    Sounds like acid reflux. Assuming you are already on medication for acid reflux (most people need to take it for about two to four weeks post op), check with your surgeon/doctor whether you need something a little stronger for a while.

    Stall or too many calories?

    How long since you've lost weight? If its only a short period of time its likely to be a stall. If its a long period of time, have you checked in with your team to go over your food intake. The goals previously given for protein intake may not be applicable now. Are you execising at all?

    Words are powerful, if you tell yourself its going to be a hell week, it's very likely to be exactly that. Change your words, change your thinking and things may turn out a lot better than you think.

    Over night stay at hospital. Yay or nay

    I was in for two nights, my surgeon would have been happy with another night. I was quite happy I was in hospital, I certainly wouldn't have managed the first night at home. I can't even fathom people going home the same day as surgery.

    The Very Beginning

    My surgeon was Dr David Joseph from the Bodyfree Clinic in Newtown NSW. I found him excellent, don't know if he does a minimiser ring though. Be open to recommendations for different types of WL surgery from whichever surgeon you see, they will make recommendations based on your health, weight to be lost and achievable outcomes.

    You are giving way too much power to absolute strangers to control you and your emotions. Your new mantra: They are strangers and what strangers say or think about you is of no importance to you, and you will not give them a second thought or even a first one.

  14. Sorry to hear you are going through this. If you've lost a bit of weight since you've started the pre-op diet, the emotions may be related to a hormone imbalance...its something some people feel post op too. It may also be something else. Have you contact a medical doctor yet? 300cals is fairly low for a pre-op diet, most achieve at least 800cals. What is your pre-op diet protocol and are you meeting all the guidelines for it? Does it include low starch veg or fruit? Is there an opportunity to swap out one of the shakes to fish or a piece of lean chicken (not the day before surgery though)?
  15. Could be lactose intolerance. If the lactaid tablets don't help, swap out the shakes to plant based shakes.

    I know surgeons and dieticians/nutritionists have a variety of pre -op and post-op diets, but two weeks on a clear liquid diet after a sleeve for someone at your start weight seems extreme. I certainly wouldn't have survived two weeks on a clear liquid diet post-op.

    It may be too much stomach acid which sometimes can feel like you are hungry or your stomach gnawing away at you. Are you taking acid reducing medication> If you are, you may need something stronger. If not, talk to your doctor in case you need something to help reduce stomach acid. In any event, may be worthwhile checking in with your surgeon for some insight.

    Ankle or wrist weights (at your weigh in) may help you get over the line for BMI for insurance purposes On a more serious note, maybe have a chat with your insurance company and check what the BMI threshold is for them for someone without co-morbidities.

    There are so many reasons why you may have experienced nausea, could be what you ate, could be acid reflux, could be you ate too fast, could be you ate too much, etc etc. What did eat that made you feel sick? How much did you eat? Are you taking acid reducing medication? How much fluid did you drink around the time of eating? How long did it take to eat your meal? Was it every meal or just one? So little information from you to help with your query. So many questions we have to be able to may be able to help you.

    I don't post a lot, but I do read a lot. What I have seen sometimes are new posters who post a lot and share a lot very quickly, then they disappear within a few weeks. In the meantime, people have equally shared their experience and invested a lot of time in reponding to the new poster. Next time round, another new poster who posts a lot and shares a lot very quickly and each time round, existing members are slower to respond. Existing members are then waiting to see if the new poster is going to stick around, see if its worth engaging in a meaningful way. Particularly when the new member is posting a lot of personal info and asking others to exchange the same about them and/or asking questions that may take a lot of time to respond to. Give it time, this may be an anonymous message board but some people still are still cautious and want to take time to get to know others in a basic way, see if they can relate to the person and their personal circumstances and/or their questions and if they do, then they engage in a more meaningful way. A lot of people are short of time too, they like to come and go quickly and may respond to posts that do not require a lot of time.
