    Still Hungry

You may be better placed to follow the more general post op guidelines...liquids, purees, soft foods then standard foods, with a focus on meeting some protein minimums (typically about 60gms of protein per day). This may help with the transition from liquids to standard foods. If you were not give any guidelines from your surgeon or dietician, if you google 'pureed food bariatic surgery' you will find lots of suggestions, here is one I found https://www.upmc.com/services/bariatrics/surgery-process/post-surgery/diet/pureed, foods lists as well as timeframes will likely vary from clinic to clinic. Your surgeon or dietician may also have some suggestions for you.

Too Much Soup for One Meal?

Liquid goes through the stomach fairly quickly and you may be able to consume come than you should be at this time. Did you have guidelines as to the maximum volume you should be consuming per meal? If so, perhaps you should stick with the guidelines. Don't want to put to much pressure on a stomach that is in the healing stage.

    Gastric sleeve post op 7weeks

What type of foods are you eating? Any chance you are swallowing too much air? This may be useful to you...https://www.southwestsurgery.com.au/sleeve-gastrectomy/complications-of-laparoscopic-sleeve-gastrectomy/burping-after-sleeve-gastrectomy If it continues you may want to check with your doctor or surgeon.

How soon after surgery? Weeks, months?

    Lap Band Removed 12/10/2019

Hello and welcome, hope it all goes well for you. March will be here before you know it!

    Body dysmorphia

Do you have any before photos and a current photo? Sometimes what we can't see in the mirror we can see in photos. I would think with a loss of 45lb with your start weight, that 45lb would be reasonably noticeable paricularly with clothing, unless you were wearing really tight clothing or elasticised clothing before your weight loss.

    No F#$ckin BMI Way

Body fat percentage is better than BMI. If you have access to a dexa scan or something similar go for it.

    Puree

What surgery did you have? Is avocado on your food list? While its a good fat, avocado is high in fat and maybe the calories may be too high for you at this point in time? Mybe the high fat content may not agree with you? There isn't any protein. If its a small amount it may be okay. Perhaps check in with your dietician/nutritionist or your surgeon's office???
  9. There is a little saying I like - Don't let perfect be the enemy of good. Sometimes we get so caught up on an ideal on a number on a scale that it can compromise everything we set out to achieve. The number on a scale is just a number on a scale, it doesn't depict our worth, no number should, however, there are some non scale goals that would serve us better and give our health so much more meaning. Particularly when people are unready in the health weight range for their height or are close to it and have a lot of excess skin. Body fat percentage, doesn't matter what we weigh or what excess skin we have. Some people have more lean body mass (muscle) so could well be overweight by the scale but their body fat percentage is on point. Perhaps you need to give yourself credit for what you have achieved so far, very close to the healthy weight for your height, your goal weight may or may not be achievable but it is at the low end of the BMI. Maybe a refocus on some other non scale goals for a while would take the pressure of yourself.

    Nauseated

Could it be stomach acid that is making you feel sick? How much are you trying to consume each time and are you sipping slowly?
  11. Your meal should take about 15 to 20 minutes. One small bite at a time, chew chew and keep chewing until its pulverised. Swallow, and start again. Do not eat quickly, it can take up to 20 minutes before the brain realises your stomach was actually full 10 to 15 minutes before.
  12. Perhaps you need something else inbetween before you go to solids...you have been on mostly liquids (with some yoghurt or hummus) for a while, maybe try some pureed foods for a week or two, then do a week or two of softs foods...just a thought
  13. I assume you are not looking for a revision from a prior weight loss procedure? I wouldn't have thought there would be too many if any surgeons that would operate on someone with a BMI of 29, if they did they would require a number of comorbities I imagine. I know for most weight loss surgeries as an initial procedure that a BMI of 40 is required or BMI 35 with a specified numbers of comorbities. Some of the non surgery options like the balloon or endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty may go lower to about BMI 30 if there are comorbities. Not sure of the lapband though this procedure seems not be to as popular in the USA.

    Weight Gain

It is normal for a lot of people to have a stall or gain a little weight as they progress through the post op food stages. It is also normal to experience stalls/small gains every now and then as you continue your weight over the coming months. Some women also experience hormonal gains just before their periods. These gains are usually quite temporary.
  15. Sorry for the confusion, I had edited my post before you replied because I realised I had it wrong and it was quicker to delete the paragraph than edit it (I had hoped before anyone quoted it haha). Instead of 110 x 4, I did a 210 x 4 calculation in my head. Too early in the morning for mental arithmetics for me it seems
  16. Ooops ignore my post, my maths was out...
  17. I wouldn't consider string cheese to be pureed food, but if its on your post op food guide as pureed foods you likely need longer before giving it a go. If it isn't, stop, consider why you did the surgery, consider that you trusted the surgeon to do the surgery, now trust them enough to follow faithfully the food guidelines provided by them. Trust them to know what your stomach can and cannot cope with just yet.

    Am I losing my mind...

It's not you it's him. Maybe some couples/relationship counselling may with help his insecurities, jealousy etc. If he chooses not to go to counselling it would no doubt be beneficial to you. It could help you to deal with him assertively.
  19. So the pain and issues were from IBS or actually issues due to the band slipping or intolerance to the whatever the band is made up from?

    Disgusted

Due to an autoimmune issue I produce very little saliva and have permanent dry mouth. There are various products from mouth mousse, gel, toothpaste, gum, mouth wash and things like the melts that can help. For me, I sip lots of water and swish around, occasionally I dabble in the various products but mostly rely on fluids. You could also try stimulating the mouth by running your tongue around it, especially the roof of the mouth, this helps to produce a littlle saliva too. If you are aren't producing saliva or a lot of saliva the first step in digestion is compromised, digestive enzymes may help with that.

    Date is set

Not far away at all. Nervous is natural, my one tip would be to follow your post-op food guidelines. Also take it easy on yourself, there will be slip ups but just get back track, don't let slip ups derail your weight loss.

Not really a rant but just frustrating

I can understand the frustration. See if you can stop the conversation loops by changing the subject of conversation.

    Gas 4 weeks post op

Hopefully it won't be long before this improves for you. What type of soft mushy foods are you eating? Are they contributing to gas/bloat do you think? Perhaps another few days back on liquids/pureed foods may help? It may be that your stomach needs a little more time.

    *MOTIVATION*

Motivation peaks and troughs, motivation may get you started but commitment will keep you going. For exercise, do something that you enjoy...join a sports team if that's your thing ogor dancing. If you find yourself constantly putting off scheduled exercise..do in the morning....get everything ready the night before, set as many alarms as you need to get out of bed, get out of bed and just do it. That way you have no excuses later in the day. Do you enjoy walking but short of time? Break it down into manageable chunks of time...instead of doing 30 minutes do 2 x 15mins or 3 x 10mins etc. Make appointments to walk with a friend or family member...it will be a great opportunity to catch up while exercising.
