    Clothes?

Think positive, you aren't going to need them. Recycle them, give them to a charity...there are many people who need them for than you will.

    Coke

Coke is a highly additive drug, and then there is the complication of transfer of an addiction. Some people after weight loss surgery transfer a food addiction to alcohol or drugs. As above, hopefully at the very least she can be encouraged to be discuss with her doctor.

    CONFUSED

Not everyone has nausea or vomiting. Did your doctor give you an estimate of how much weight you would lose in the first few weeks? If so, it is only a guideline. Weight loss is different for everyone and no doubt there are some who lose a lot in the first weeks. At your start weight 10lb is fairly reasonable I would have thought. People tend to stall as they progress through the post op stages, and you may be experiencing this. If you stick to your guidelines the fat will come off, maybe not as fast as some but as fast as your body will allow.

7 days Post Op and scared

Are you consuming the volumes specified in your post op diet guidelines? If you, then I wouldn't say you were consuming too much at all.

    Sugar

I have a massive sweet tooth, best thing I have found is cold turkey. There will be a few days of horrible cravings but once that is over, things improve immensely and the need for a sugar hit has gone. Find ways to distract yourself when the cravings hit, something that occupies your mind and hands. Make sure nothing in the house to tempt you. I don't know how far how post op you are but maybe go back to some basics...protein, non starchy veges, etc and lots of good fluids.
  8. Regardless of what side of the food fence we sit on, all those documentaries that support our values do cherry pick the science and the data that they choose to present to try and win the other side other. I guess in that sense it is propaganda.
  9. You don't actually know for sure that losing weight will make your husband happier. Weight gain and lack of weight loss/yo-yo dieting can happen for complex reasons...significant overeating, unhealthy eating, yo-you dieting etc can sometimes be symptoms of something else that going on in someone's life that is more to do with emotions and mental health. You can't force your husband to lose weight and you can't force him to want to. You can explain to him that you love him and want him healthy so as he can enjoy a long and healthy life with you, your children and grandchildren...but he is going to have want to do it himself, its then you can support him. I am not entirely sure you understand how hard it is to make life style changes that stick long enough to make long term sustainable changes. A diet mentality isn't going to work...that's why we are all here. Is he suffering with depression? If so, that needs to be treated appropriately. Can the work pressures be dealt with? Different role and/or employer? Having a partner with different values can be frustrating for both, seems to me you both may need counselling sessions together and your own separate sessions, see if there is a middle ground that is a win/win for both.
  10. I have't been through it but just wanted to say hi/welcome and hopefully things improve significantly from now on for you. Don't know about an app, there may well be one, but I access the forums by using an unread posts link...it shows all new posts regardless of which subforum they have been posted in. https://www.bariatricpal.com/discover/unread/?&stream_unread_links=1&stream_classes[IPS\forums\Topic]=1

    🍎Apple Cider Vinegar🍎

I have and always diluted with warm water and sometimes honey. Not sure any of the additions in your ACV would make it more palatable. Due to the acid content I can't see that they would make the vinegar any easier to drink unless diluted.

    🍎Apple Cider Vinegar🍎

I certainly wouldn't be drinking it straight...damage to teeth. Mix with some warm water and perhaps a little amount of honey if your stomach can handle honey.

    lean muscle mass building

The scales shouldn't be the only indicator of success...and if someone puts on a bit of scale weight because of increased body mass that's great...no doubt they will have lost some body fat and will continue to do so. I can't think of a worse reason not to do strength or resistance training because of the scales...I would think the benefits would far outweigh that.

Extra meal replacement shake on preop

How many days left until your surgery and how many days into the pre-op stage? Are you doing three shakes a day or two shakes plus a protein and veg meal? If having a meal, it may be useful to top up on low starchy veges the next few days. Right now, better to have something protein..so I'd be having another shake or perhaps some protein (high protein yoghurt, cottage cheese or an egg - even a small piece of chicken) Make sure the hunger isn't thirst...you can do this by having a glass of water if you are still feeling hungry after 15 minutes have something to eat
