  1. 7lb sounds like weight loss to me and is pretty good for seven days, and you will likely lose a few more pounds before Wednesday.

    Stopped losing weight.

Well done on your weight loss so far. Going to need a lot more information than you've given so as to receive relevant responses. It would help if you completed your profile: height, weight etc. Also how long as your weight stopped? What are you eating (including fluids with calories) and what volumes. How much fluid intake? Alcohol? Exercise? Incidental activity?
  3. You mentioned in another thread that you are doing keto. If you are doing a genuine keto diet which is high fat, low carb it maybe that your stomach/digestive system is not able to cope with the high fat intake one month out.

    1 day pre op diet!

Pre-op plans vary significantly. Some surgeons require a two week (or more) program regardless of the personal circumstances of the person. Other surgeons will tailor their pre op program to the person, Some surgeons don't do a pre-op plan regardless, just a typical pre surgery plan which would apply regardless of the surgery. I imagine your pre-op plan for one day would be just fluids? It may be that our surgeon doesn't do a typical WLS pre-op plan or based on your personal circumsances a pre-op weight loss diet (to lose weight or shrink liver) is not required. May be worth your while to talk to your surgeon or their staff about your confusion, they would be able to explain to you better than we could why the surgeon has given you the pre op plan of one day only.
  5. Thank you, I saved the pdf and have referred to it a few times.
  6. IF meaning intermittent fasting? At a month out it may be a bit soon to be doing that given you are already on a fairly low calorie base, as well as finding it difficult to get your daily food consumption in a reduced time frame (given the reduced stomach volume). Did your surgeon / dietician give you the go head for IF? Given your weight has stalled a bit in the first four weeks you have lost a good amount of weight already.
  7. I am a year out, and everything tastes the same to me.
  8. My apologies I can't remember who posted this originally on these forums, but I do like the concept of 'best weight'.

    lifted too much?

You may not realise but this is an old thread (seven years old) and the original poster may not be around any more. Hopefully you haven't done any damage but are you experiencing any additional pain or discomfort since?

    Hospital Stay

From what I can gather from posts here, nights in hospital have reduced somewhat in some areas due to covid (particularly in the USA). Pre covid, you could probably have expected up to three nights depending on the surgeon and how well recovery was going.

    Do I eat too much?

Real sleeve restriction is likely to kick in when you are on more solid foods. You are losing weight and assuming you are following your post op guidelines you are doing great. Post op plans vary significantly and its easy to get confused when people list their program and you compare it to your own.

Can I see some before and after pics?

Do you mind if I message too please?

    Working out ?

Depends on when your surgeon gives you the go ahead based on your recovery. I was told I could do walking as soon as I was up for it (I had to spend two weeks in quarantine after my surgery) I wore a path around my house and garden. Weights not for at least six weeks from memory and then only light weights to start.

    Whole-Food Plant-Based Nutrition Resources

My diet is not plant based but I do eat a variety of foods and happy to eat vegetarian or vegan when I visit my sisters (one vegan, the other vegetarian) or go to their preferred restaurants. As much as possible I will buy free range and locally/grass fed and the local farmers market is excellent. Fortunately where I live is a food bowl.

    I "snuck" having WLS

I like the response to the question 'is weight loss surgery cheating?' on this website https://www.bariatric-surgery-source.com/weight-loss-surgery-cheating.html A couple of other articles that may help frame further conversations around 'cheating or the easy way out', I do like the concept of the 'healthy way out' https://www.smartshape.ca/wls-not-the-easy-way-out/ https://bariatrictimes.com/healthy-way-out-march-2018/

    Surgery tomorrow!

I probably should have used the word uneventful! The contact dermatitis was from the adhesive on the dressings. Red, inflammed as well as spots with lots of itchiness. I used a hydrocortisone cream.

    Surgery tomorrow!

I had a sleeve, fortunately for me I didn't suffer with any nausea. Thankfully I had a rather boring recovery, no gas pain, no nausea, no acid reflux...I did have some spasms when first drinking fluid but this didn't last long at long and there was discomfort around the incision sites but no pain as such. Contact dermatitis was probably the worse of any thing I experienced. Presumably they do with all their patients? And have excellent results with recovery?
  18. 15lb in 11 days is a big goal, and yes if you are exercising you will get hungry if you are not eating enough to sustain your exercise as well as your normal every day activities. How much exercise are you doing? How many calories are you eating? Note those who lose a lot of weight in the weeks leading up to surgery typically don't lose as much as they expect in the first few weeks post op, as they have already lost the bloat and any fluid retention. Has your surgeon put you on a very low calorie diet during this time? Pre-op plans vary but a lot of people have to do a two week pre-op diet for various reasons.
  19. As an adult I would never expect anyone to be with me overnight following this type of surgery. If something goes wrong there are nurses there, if something goes wrong he wouldn't be allowed to be with you anyway. Hopefully you will be so sleepy you won't miss not being there over night.

    I’m just not thirsty

Get a water bottle and keep it around you all day, sip all day from it.
  21. I am copying my respone in another thread which is almost the exact as yours and the reply is applicable to you too: It would be useful if you filled in your profile: weight and height, helps with context to some questions/posts. I wouldn't say it was slow either, 6kilos in three weeks is good, you are doing great. Your body has been through a surgery, there is swelling and inflammation, its healing. If you read through a lot of the posts here or use the search link for stalls you would see that stalls are a common factor in weight loss surgery even in the first few weeks. The infamous three week stall that can happen at two or four weeks too, for some people the first stall may last a short time for others it can be a few weeks. There will be other stalls along the way. If you lost a lost of weight pre surgery in the pre op diet, this typically lessens the weight loss in the immediate post op phase as you've already lost all the bloat and Fluid retention. https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/436058-hardly-any-weight-loss-after-week-2-post-op-is-this-normal/

  23. Stalls are normal for weight loss surgery, they are nothing out of the norm. It's early days for you, I don't think i would be trying IF just yet, particularly on the low calorie amounts in the early days, and particularly moreso, if you haven't run this past your surgeon or dietician.

    Dizzy/Lightheaded

Not an expert here by any means but is it possilby a lack of electrolytes? What is your liquid diet made up of? Just protein shakes or meal replacment shakes?
  25. Have you been able to lose weight before and maintain the weight loss for a significant period of time? For most of us, we can lose weight but we find it hard to maintain the loss long term. While your weight may seem lowish compared to others who have weight loss surgery, your current BMI is just over 40 and on some website calculators it is considered to be obese level 3. My surgery weight was on the lowish end too, and I don't think I have lost more than 50lb to be at my current weight, however, I am much healthier, more mobile etc etc and I would not hesitate to do it all again. 70lbs in not insignificant. You do have medical issues which would benefit from weight loss, if you feel the only reason you are losing weight now because of weight loss meds what are you going to do when you stop those meds? Only you can decide if undergoing surgery is worth it for you, but I think you will find there are many others with the same amount of weight or under lost and they too would not hesitate to do it all again. My only complaint is that I didn't do it much sooner!
