  1. So day 1 failed xD I ended up having a dinner at 7pm because I was so darn hungry. My caloric intake ended up being 582 I believe. So today, I switched it up to having eating hours between 11am-7pm so I can have a real dinner. And also not look like a weirdo to my mother who will be staying with me this weekend (lordhelpme). Being without food for a few hours in the morning really wasn't that bad, so I'm curious to see how the rest of the day goes. I know a grocery run is in my future. My meals today are consisting of fiber cereal, 2 protein shakes, and tuna with a little light mayo 😐 Protein goal is for sure met. Variety goal...not so much.
  2. Well that would be ok then. Before I jumped on board with this my usual day was 500-600. It must just be very difficult the first day!
  3. Is there something that helped you all determine how many calories you should be eating on fasting days? I met my protein goal--even exceeded it-- but only ate 382 calories. I'm drinking my water like a pro right now, but dang this girl is hungry! Is there some sort of "calculator" out there I'm missing?
  4. Today is day 1 for me. My eating hours are 6a-2p. I’m actually excited. Slightly terrified about eating “dinner” at 1:45 but my mornings need all the brain power so 🤷🏼‍♀️
  5. Thank you! Once the initial suck wears off I'm sure I'll be on here for advice on how to shake things up and such! And i'll keep getting ideas and keep reading in the meantime from all of you that have been doing this for a bit!
  6. Okay--I'm on board because I need an intervention! So if I do 16:8, if I'm correct, I'm eating all of my nutrition and meeting my nutrition goals in that 8 hour period. For example: Eating hours 6am to 2pm. And then the rest of the time up until the following day at 6am I'm drinking water (with flavor allowed) and tea. Yes? This seems like a good beginner plan to start off with. And I think not eating dinner will basically suck monkey....yaknow....at first...but I'm a morning person and most of my work is in the morning so I need my brain functioning best during those hours I will say I read this thread in it's entirety and learned a HECK TON. And I'm so proud of all of your successes!

    November sleevers here

For Halloween at work and then friends
  8. So I had a terrible few days eating and gained a few pounds and needed to reset both my head and my pouch. So today, I started all liquids again. 3 protein shakes for the 3 meals of the day and then just flavored water in between. Has anyone done a sleeve reset or gone back to liquids for a bit to refocus? If so, how long did you do it? Thanks!

    So Dramatic...

I too had the poo issue. Trusted one I shouldn't have while basically sleeping. Rolled over to the other side of the bed and left it 😐 Found the mark the next morning and since this was super new post-op, had to beg my roommate to not ask questions and go wash my sheets downstairs for me xD He was very kind about it (and definitely knew what was up) I also recently had a very dramatic pity party for myself when I realized that weighing 125 would not be maintainable for me, but 127 probably is...for the near future at least. So I changed my goal again and accepted I *likely* won't be losing the full 100lbs I was trying for. (Me being a total drama queen since my progress is great regardless!)

    November sleevers here

I had to banish myself (starting today) to just liquids because I had an out of control eating weekend. #restart #backtoverybasics. My 1 year post op visit is 11/28 and I damn well am going to be 127 by then!

    November sleevers here

I'm guessing we've all found a new appreciation for life after surgery and are just simply too busy to come back I mean, I did, but I still come back and hound y'all. 2 pounds from a new goal. I realized 125 may be slightly unrealistic thinking of coming maintenance so 127 it is. My weekend weigh in said 129.5, but my nutrition wasn't great so I'm planning on checking that again next week. Otherwise, just living the protein, fluids, and exercise life.

    20 Something’s?

    I was 27 when I had surgery. I don't regret it for a minute.
  13. Well I know I sure hit that pain medicine button as much as it would let me--my incisions probably hurt worse than my stomach. I was released the morning after my surgery at 5am, went home and slept. And slept. And then sipped. I had a relatively "normal" immediate recovery I think.

TMI - preop diet and haven’t pooped in 7 days

I'm no medical professional, but I'd be dumping miralax into my liquids after that long. Yowza. I feel like the opposite is more common than constipation 😐

    Salad

This is blowing my mind too because I'm 11 months post op and still can only eat a few bites of salad. I kept trying to eat a salad for lunch at work and I finally just accepted my stomach prefers straight protein instead. So I'm the goofball in the salad bar line filling a bowl with chicken breast chunks, diced ham, hardboiled egg, and a pinch of dressing

    Personal Rewards

I rewarded myself with 3 helix piercings last week for losing 95lbs. I have no idea what I'm going to do when I hit 100
  17. I just finished a case of Cookies and Cream, the newest flavor. It was pretty sweet, but good. But like all Premier Protein if I don't finish it within 20 minutes and it gets warm, bleh!

Did you tell your new partner you had WLS?

I've been going on random dates for a little while and I told one person since the date unexpectedly led to food and I haven't seen that person since I've told the others recently that I am living a healthier lifestyle and I steer the date setting to things that don't revolve around food! One of my pictures on my dating profile is a "progress" selfie so fitness inevitably comes up.

    Dating

It hasn't worked for me (yet) but I'm not giving up-- DOG PARKS. That's where the 20-30somethings are hanging out

On the Subject of New Clothes....

I still have an aversion to shopping and I'm 3 lbs away from goal. I was fine going to Goodwill a few times earlier on in my journey, but for some reason now that I'm essentially at goal it's like I can't believe it, so I don't go get the new clothes that fit. I don't know how to shop for this smaller body. My co-worker/best friend had to pull me aside a week ago and tell me people were commenting on how baggy my pants were and noticing me pull them up often. I bought a few new pairs and discovered I'm a size 6, maybe close to a 4 at this point. Now that these are the clothes I'll likely be wearing for awhile...I want to buy higher quality items...but replacing a wardrobe is expensive! Hopefully I can get over the mental block at the same time I get over the "spend money" fact
  21. I picked 127 because I haven't been that weight since I was probably 14 years old--and I think with proper diet and exercise I can easily get there (3lbs away). But 125 is my "HOLY CRUD YOU GOT SKINNY" goal. But for some reason the two pounds between those two goals are daunting! I just kind of laugh because my doctor told me to aim for 160. xD No thank you.

Feeling a bit Low and Alone!

I will say I had this 2 month period of being dizzy to the point of falling sometimes, but it wasn't as soon post-op as you are. I agree with the hydration comment, however I'll throw in my experience: my surgeon ran labwork, all came back normal, and he said, "well sometimes this just happens" and that's all the explanation I got! So maybe if you have a follow up soon involving blood work that can help provide some reassurance if things all come back normal.
  23. I started eating like crap again for maybe 2 weeks, fell into a depression of sorts. Just pulled myself out of it Sunday and discovered a lovely 3lb gain. Which is hardly anything at all to get off but when I was half a pound from goal....ouch! The protein shakes and water bottles are back in full force and the convenience food/alcohol/coffee is OUT. Just goes to show if you let yourself slide back....there will be consequences
  24. I'm 11 months out now so things I didn't like post op I like again, but I remember early on I really LOVED spicy things and put hot salsa on anything I could. Previously I didn't like spicy food very much.
