  1. It will likely take longer to consume post op.

What is your most embarrassing NSV?

It’s only embarrassing because I deal with anxiety, but my coworker shouting about how big my dress was in front of about 20 people. “Don’t you see how tight you have it tied?! Don’t you see where the seams are SUPPOSED to be?!” Why yes friend/coworker I see all of those things, I just don’t have clothes that fit! 😂 I’m actually making a thrift store run this weekend for new pants. Mine also fall down all the time.

    Dizziness

I had general dizziness around post op month 5, lasted until middle of month 6. Doc said it was “normal” and to increase my water. All lab work came back normal. 🤷🏼‍♀️ None of that now though at almost 9 months!

    Changing BC after surgery?

My surgery was November 2017 (VSG) and I've had issues with breakthrough bleeding on my usual pill, and still despite changing pills about 3 months ago. My provider thinks it could be an absorption issue, which I don't know if I necessarily agree with considering I had VSG and not bypass, but anyways... Has anyone gone to the Nexplanon (arm) birth control after surgery? Thoughts on it? I'm half a** looking into it (aka kind of not really) but wanted to see if anyone had personal experience on here going from pill to arm implant.

    Changing BC after surgery?

I would love to lose my period most months. But I imagine that would make it a monster to deal with the months it did show up. My appointment is coming up soon so have a lot to ask about. Nexplanon, IUD, and maybe even depo...because I don’t want kids. So that side effect mentioned above doesn’t bother me. But the weight gain possibility does. So many choices! 😳

    Calorie intake

I mean I’m 9 months out and eating max 550 calories a day, avg is 400. 90 pound loss so far. @GreenTealael is right—it depends on what the food is. For me, I don’t snack so it’s a protein shake, high quality protein meat with veggie at lunch, and typically seafood for dinner like tilapia. It’s not about the calories it’s about the macros you consume. At least to me.

    Changing BC after surgery?

Right?! Me too. I take other pills, it’s easy to remember and take and it doesn’t need to be inserted in my body for however long. My gyno office actually told me today on the phone there’s a higher dose pill than I am on, I’m going to ask for that if it doesn’t stop soon.

    Dizzy and Weak

I had this issue up until 6.5 months post op. They said it was common in “some folks” and to focus on staying hydrated. Thankfully it went away about a week after that conversation 😂
  9. 5 days. Because I too couldn’t give myself the lovenox shots 😂

Pork loin made in the crock pot or oven

Pork loin in the crockpot is good. I usually mess it up in the oven, but I think that’s user error ;P I’ve had it a few times but prefer fish/chicken

    Hot flash after food

This was somewhat common for me during early post op too. If it continues, I’d chat with your bariatric team. I only get this feeling now with ground beef so my team tells me it’s likely a food I’ll just have difficulty with. And if I want to avoid the feeling, eat something else! 😂
  13. I’m just over 8 months post op. And I think I’ve found one of “those” foods you react to funny no matter how far out you are. For me, it’s ground beef! I can usually get 3 oz of lean ground beef in before I start hot flashing and sweating! It’s intense. Lasts about 15 minutes. Anyone have a reaction like this to any other foods? I’m just glad there are other protein sources! 😂

    Calorie intake

    8 months. 500-600/day.

    Hot flash after food

96/4 with salt, pepper, and a “all purpose” spice I use in everything. This happens any time I try ground beef so I shouldn’t be surprised! I just thought after many months of other protein sources (and a sale at the store!) I could try again. But fish and chicken are good enough for me!

    None of Your Business!

I’ll just throw this in as well, it turned out to not be an issue with my group of coworkers as much as I hyperprepared for it...many didn’t ask questions until the weight was falling off...like my pants haha. I always needed new clothes early in. I told the truth about a month later to everyone but I got much fewer comments on the size of my meals than I thought. People care a lot more about themselves where I work at least 😂
  17. YES 🙌🙌🙌 preach. I’m in camp 3. They are not the best but I can stomach all the flavors, so if it helps me meet my goals, bring it.

    Hot flash after food

@Frustr8, it definitely felt like a swoosh, but I’m VSG. I really only get it with ground beef too which is crummy! Thank goodness I’m more of a chicken and fish fan...but it was on sale 😂

    Carbs

My program allows up to 70 a day once you reach “real” food stage, or end stage. I usually stay around 30-40 unless I’m having a mocha 😂

    Gas X

That’ll go away at some point. I was super self conscious about it too. And I had gas x strips and they had no impact on my burps. After a few months I just accepted I was a little bit more of a noisy eater. 8 months out now and it rarely happens.
  21. Syntrax Nectar Double Stuffed Cookie. Tried so many brands before landing on Syntrax as my favorite.
  22. I was indeed. And I feel like chips are a slider food anyway because they have zero nutritional value, so no matter how many you eat, your body isn't signaling signs of fullness because it's getting no nutrition! So there I was just nomming away angrily. Today's workout and meal plan shall combat my emotional eating last night I hope! Beware of the slider foods and emotional eating my friends!
  23. I ate a whole can of pringles last night. Eating when you’re mad as all get out is definitely a thing...and yes, I had to specifically go get them so that’s a choice I accepted. today is a new day. And I have plans for it. Give myself some grace and move on!

    November sleevers here

All of my WLS stuff is on private boards, so they would not show up to anyone that follows me Sorry! Most people that follow me on pinterest are not aware of the surgery. While I'm not hiding it from anyone, I'm not broadcasting it either
