Thank You, went into surgery around 10:20 am and woke up around 3pm. The Dr was able to do the bypass I felt like a truck had ran me over but am feeling a lot better now, I’m only in pain getting in and out of bed. Just drank my first medicine cup of Water but had to do it very slowly.

Check out vaping, man. You're not that deep into nicotine so nicotine free liquid would satisfy the cravings and is delicious.

If you're interested, I can shoot you some hardware and liquid recommendations for starting out.

I'm over 2 years post op and I can still lose weight if i watch what I'm eating. I can also gain weight too so I watch my weight and if i gain I eat clean and the weight comes off. So having said that if you want to lose more eat clean and exercise.

Congrats on losing 51.8 lbs! Just curious, why would you be content to stop losing where you're are, at 270.7lbs when you're goal is 100lbs away still??? As I read on here, the one's who are truly focusing on losing every single day, exceed their surgeon's expectations and lose to goal or pretty close to goal.
My surgeon termed my honeymoon period as: 6 months in "the sweet spot" and an additional year in the active weight loss spot. Beyond that, weight loss isn't impossible, but merely more difficult than in the beginning phases.
If it were me, I would not be thinking of the regain. I would still be in high-gear to lose as much of that additional 100lbs as humanly possible within the next 10months! I'd do that by meeting my Vitamin, Water and daily Protein goals and keeping 20g net carbs daily. I would also strictly limit any shenanigans that include carby, fattening foods and alcohol.
Not meaning to be inflexible, I would just know I have more work to do and be very diligent about living "cleanly."

How are you feeling today Sunshine? I'm a little more sore than yesterday but it's because I'm not being doped up with pain meds by nurses every few hours
    But it's tolerable.

Keep your chin up. You'll be home soon and feeling great in no time at all.

@JohnnyCakes - Seems like an very cruel thing to say to a fellow Bariatric Pal a few hours after her surgery, don't you think? Looks like you had major success with losing weight...how about lifting up your fellow forum members when they need it the most instead of trying to shame them for being brave enough to share at a tough time to help others who are right behind her? I think she is frickin' awesome for taking the time to post on the day of surgery with helpful hints and encouraging words.

Usually I let people like him just not bother me, but with lack of sleep, surgery, pain,..etc, he just made me sit in a hospital bed balling my eyes out. Some people are just so unkind.
Thank you for sticking up for me.

Beans are a good carb because it has Fiber, and they have Protein and on my plan it is completely allowed.

I think it's pretty simple. If you find yourself hungry and snacky between meals or within 3 hours of your last meal, then chances are that you had more carbs in your last meal than your body can comfortable handle. If you're fighting the urge to snack and graze, you're eating too high carb/too high glycemic.
My surgeon and nut tell me I need to eat Protein first, then veggies, then if there is any room left over to allow a bite or two of a higher carb item such as a starchier veg like butternut squash or sweet potato, rutabaga--or a bite or two of quinoa, brown rice, or wild rice, or barley. Most of my meals should be protein first and a bite or two of veg. Low glycemic fruit and berries are also allowed.

I think you can't go wrong following a nutrition first outlook. no need to follow "diet plans". ask yourself if this gives you the highest number of nutrients? Post RNY nutrient dense food is critical. I don't avoid carbs, about 35% of my diet is nutrient dense carbs like fruits and vegetables, seeds, sometimes Beans etc. 40% is Protein (critical post op) and the remainder are healthy fats like salmon and avocado, nuts.
I avoid processed foods and simple carbs because they have little nutritional value. post op there isn't a lot of real estate in your stomach so nutrient dense food needs to take priority.
Now that I'm in maintenance and eating more. I may have the occasional simple carb choice...but i treat it like a condiment in terms of portion.

"Bad habits?" Some people would consider it a "bad habit" to cut out fruit, starchy vegetables and whole grains and subsisting on meat, eggs and cheeses. Others damn a banana down into deepest hell.
If a dietary habit is bad or not depends on the dietary philosophy people are following. And there are plenty out there to follow.

In the beginning, focus on getting your Protein in. There will be no room for carbs until later. I'm 7.5 months out and I usually stay under 100g carbs, but I also eat 120g+ of protein at this point.
Right after surgery it was low fat and low sugar. Under 15g of fat and 8g of sugar per 100g. That was for the first 6 weeks, after that, everything was fair game.

Check with your surgeons office but I was allowed to eat well mashed tuna with a bit of light mayo during pureed stage.
I also pureed scrambled eggs with some chunky salsa for a "huevos rancheros" puree meal, it was pretty good. And I was able to have lentil Soup that I made myself because the lentils are tiny and get so soft. That was my go to yum food for a long time, it was very flavorful. I was able to freeze small containers to save for later.

I find that unless one is a strict vegan/vegetarian, almost anything can be obliterated to tiny particles in an excellent blender then mixed with 25mL, 50mL, 75mL, 100mL or 125mL of pourable raw egg whites.
These amounts of egg whites offer an extra 15g, 29g, 44g, 58g or 73g of extra dietary Protein respectively.
Egg whites blended into anything else are near to neutral. Makes swallowing anything else easy for most people.
My dietitian and surgeon applauded this idea for protein building.
Each 55g (2oz) egg only adds 7g protein plus a whack of fat and may kick your cholesterol count way out. Egg whites are negligible to zero cholesterol depending on brand or processing.
