You are absolutely right. I am overeating and not working out enough. I know the problem is with my behaviors. I'm back to drinking a few shakes a day, which helps keep my protein up and calories down. Struggling to drink enough water, but I bet that plays a huge factor. Thank you for this much-needed reality check!!!

Here is some info on it: http://www.5daypouchtest.com/plan/theplan.html 5DPT: Daily Food Plan: On the 5 Day Pouch Test you will follow a dietary progression beginning with liquid protein and ending with firm protein. This mimics the early dietary progression following surgery. Please click the "Read More" links to see each day in full detail. What did the mini-reset entail?

74 lbs to goal
-
I'm finally past my halfway point to my goal! I went from 311 to 234. I should be happy, but I feel like I still have so far to go to reach 160. At this point, I'd be satisfied just to get under 200 and might even be happy at 180. I fell off my diet for the last few weeks, and I'm totally feeling it. Not sure why I seem to lose focus. At nearly 8 months out, I know I have a limited amount of time left to keep losing - after a year and a half, it's all maintenance. Intellectually, I know all of this, but I've been allowing myself to cheat and eat poorly and not exercise. Got back on track a couple days ago and the numbers on the scale are beginning to fall again. I think I need to start attending the support groups at my bariatric center. I've had a few non-scale victories lately: Last year, I was wearing size 22 jeans. I just fit into a bought two pairs of size 14 pants! Last year, I was wearing size 3 and 4 tops. Now I'm wearing size 1 and 0 tops! I've been able to find cute clothes to fit into at thrift stores. According to my BMI chart, I'm no longer extremely obese - now I'm just regular obese! Sharing a progress pic - one is several months before surgery and the other one is a pic of me in my new size 14 jeans!

You look amazing!!! How have you been keeping up your progress? It's been so hard for me to stay focused lately but today I brought a bunch of healthy snacks with me to work. Trying to get back on track.

Definitely MyFitnessPal! It's going to be okay - I fell off the wagon a bit too but I'm getting back on that horse this week and feeling better. You did not fail VSG! It's a tool to help us make healthy changes for life, but of course nobody eats perfectly 100% of the time. We can do this One day at a time.

Rate of Weight Loss
bogglesauce replied to mitchjoann132010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there! I'm 6 months out and I can confirm I had similar concerns when I was a few weeks out from surgery. It gets better once you switch to solid foods. A stall isn't really a stall unless it lasts for 2 weeks, I believe. Trust the system, trust the process, trust your body. The weight will come off if you stick with the program <3. Good luck with everything! -
I had my 6 month post-op meeting yesterday and also made it to 239!!! I've only lost 40 lb since my sleeve surgery (11/22/17) but I'm okay with that. It's a marathon, not a sprint! Doctors say I'm exactly on track for my weight loss goals.

Here are a couple of my recent progress pics. I feel like I've still got so much to lose but I can see the difference in what I've lost already!
-
A 5K, that's amazing!! GO YOU!!!! I still have another 80 lbs to lose as well, we got this!
-
Looking great!!!! I'm less than halfway to my goal - I'm trying to get down to 160 and I'm at 241 right now. You made it to one-derland, that's terrific
-
Down 70 lbs since January 2017 as of today! Only down 40 lbs since my sleeve surgery, but I am okay with the slow loss!
-
Here's my progress pic, sorry I'm a little late! HW: 311 SW (11/22/17): 279 CW: 243 GW: 160

I use this supplement called Regular Girl and it helps a lot! You just stir it into 6 ounces of liquid and drink it and you'll usually have a BM that day.
-
Congrats on hitting the 200s!!!
-
You look so incredible!!! Keep up the good work Your hard work is showing!
-
kind of sad about my weight loss stall but glad to read that we're all going through it and that it seems normal
-
So sorry about your stepdad. Hope you are okay <3

Totally experiencing the same thing! Feels like the scale will barely budge. I know it'll keep moving and that everyone else who ever lost weight before us hit these hurdles too. I read a helpful article today that might help you too: https://www.obesitycoverage.com/4-ways-to-beat-a-weight-loss-stall-after-bariatric-surgery/

We don't really talk about calories much but are you supposed to be consuming a certain number of calories? I had my 3 Month post-op meeting with my surgeon last week and he reminded me that I'm supposed to be consuming 1200 calories or less everyday. Also happy to report that I'm officially down 63 pounds as of today!
-
Officially down 60 lbs since January 2017 and 30 lbs down since my surgery on 11/22!
-
Hope you're all doing well - don't get too discouraged if you feel the weight isn't coming off fast enough. As long as you're listening to your surgeon/nutritionist and following the rules, the weight WILL come off. Stalls are normal but temporary! I had a stall about a month ago that lasted 3 weeks and then suddenly the weight loss started back up again.
