I was blessed with 4 enemies the first two month after surgery. The day before I was in so much pain that my dr gave me prescription painkillers. The first time it happened I was sure I had ruptured something. Haha.

Also about 2-3 days before each one I got sooo angry over nothing.

Seems to have calmed down at this point Still a lot more blood than before though... tmi..

I’ve lost 40 pounds since I started my weight loss journey 3 weeks before surgery. Have lost 26 pounds since surgery, which was 9/11/17. I knew I’d be one of those slow losers, because no matter how hard I’ve tried to lose weight, it has always been a struggle. It may be slow, and it sure isn’t easy, but I’m doing it!

It really depends on where you are starting. On lightweights a 20 lb loss may look dramatic.. on a 300+ person, they may need to lose significantly more before people notice or they even notice themself.

I am almost 5 weeks out and I am having a hard time eating within 30 minutes. It usually takes me at the most 20 minutes to finish a meal. I don’t really have a problem with food feeling “stuck” and was just wondering if other had the same issues and any tips to help!

Okay, my surgery tomorrow so ready to get that part over with.

Day 10 for me of my 2wks liquid diet, not including the day before surgery of just Clear Liquids. I really haven't had much hunger, but I've put a lot of effort into making my shakes interesting. I'll add fruit, no sugar flavor syrups, flavor extracts, etc and try different recipes. For Breakfast today, I'm having a pumpkin pie flavored Protein Shake (pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, vanilla extract, little bit of skim milk and Water, and Protein powder). Throw it all in the blender for a min with about a cup of ice and voila - a nice frothy (and big) protein shake that takes me awhile to drink. Your body will get used to it!

At one point today I almost forgot that I was on diet!

7days! Feeling better today

I'm not turning back now. I went through too much the past 9 days to quit. LOL

I had a revelation about this liquid diet. Clearly, I was addicted to the wrong foods which is why I went through the horrible withdrawals and all the other side effects. I feel bad for drug addicts because their withdrawals last much longer and I don't know of a surgery that will help keep them from going back to their addiction. We are blessed to have this opportunity.

The best news...my insurance will pay 100% of the surgery since I met my deductible. That's like going shopping and getting everything 90% off (10% goes to my new grocery list).

Be your own best friend right now. Give yourself everything you've got and make the changes to feel good about yourself.

All for nothing my Surgery date was changed to NOV 14th

On my 3rd day of liquid diet I'm so hungry!!!
My stomach hurts and feel like I could get sick.
4 more day till surgery!!! Any suggestions

For many patients, Gastric Bypass resolves GERD/acid reflux, whereas VSG may make it worse or cause it to develop post-op. It would be interesting to find out which type of WLS results in the most dental issues.
I get my teeth cleaned 3-4 times a year and I also floss 1-2 times a day. My dentist knows I had bariatric surgery so he’s keeping a close eye on any new areas of dental caries (aka cavities), and so far everything is fine. I had a prior history of GERD but it’s gone away since GB and I’m also off all acid-reducing meds. I’m hopeful this improvement will minimize my risks for dental issues going forward.

I'm also 10/30 so I know where you're coming from. Then I read how happy 99.9% of the people who have had this done are and I am convinced that this is the right decision.

I'm sick & tired of always being sick & tired.

I'm sick & tired of feeling gross every time I look in the mirror or get dressed.

I'm sick & tired of not having the confidence to participate in activities or talk to people or move up in my career because of this damn weight!

As soon as the weight starts dropping and I have more energy there's so much I want and plan on doing!

I'm drinking ready-made Premier Shakes. Day 5 and down 9 pounds. The weak feeling has passed, but the hunger lurks. I completed my pre-admission testing today. Surgery date: 10/23.
