Ppdunn22192 got a reaction from ProudGrammy in Substitute Drink for Sparkling Water after Sleeve Surgery
It isn’t a matter of the carbonated beverage having calories or not. The issue is that the carbonation will stretch the stomach regardless of the calories in the drink. Why risk stretching your stomach when you’ve gone through all this to reduce the size of your stomach??? -

After surgery, you will have to permanently cut out ALL bubbly beverages, regardless of their calorie count.

Ppdunn22192 reacted to GreenTealael in Have you purchased any goal clothing for after surgery?
I bought a medium dress because it was on sale for $6 , at that time I was still in a 2x but I figured I would fit it eventually. I now comfortably fit it.

In Australia, we have a wonderful product but it's very, very expensive ... called V.I.Poo (Very Important Poo).
My wife stands by it.
I on the other hand, prefer the lingering cover smell (and the very reasonable price) of NILODOR.

Not sure if it's just me (I'm pretty sure it's not) but pooping at work, post bypass is a crazy embarrassing event! I've had folks walk, in and then turn right around and leave thanks to the wonderful new smells I'm producing! So embarrassing! And it lingers think and heavy, like some cross between tear gas and smog, some unseen nasal assault team going full speed ahead attempting to cause gagging.
I've recently decided to bite the bullet and buy some Poop-Pourri, just a little 4oz bottle to pocket and take with me to the can. I don't want to advertise or promote, but for what it's worth, it helped out greatly. A few times it didn't work as described, but it sure helped! I don't feel super ashamed leaving the toilet now!
Figured we could share some horror stories or other "Pooping at work" related tidbits / tips/ tricks etc

Ppdunn22192 reacted to MowryRocks in Considering Gastric Sleeve but I have Gout
I have read articles that indicate both. I read an article that stated that Gout may actually sometimes be a side effect of surgery. Probably a good question for the professionals.

Ppdunn22192 got a reaction from Frustr8 in 2 days Post Op - Update
OK, so today is my second day post-op. I was advanced to full liquids, meaning yogurt, skim milk, cream Soup, and watered down cream of wheat. So far, the food is staying down with no problem. I was supposed to be discharged today, but yesterday afternoon I developed a fever of 100.4 and chills, and my blood pressure dropped to 102/48. They’re monitoring my temperature and BP today and I expect to go home tomorrow. I’m not experiencing any pain at all. (I fully expected to be pretty miserable, but I’m not!) All of my food is being served in tiny 2 ounce cups. I’ll add a photo of today’s lunch (tomato soup and skim milk).

That seems really early to add in that food choice. But praying your stats go normal

My trick was sugar-free Jello. Don't chew well. It's still slippery enough to go down easily, but it takes a while for your stomach to break it down so you get a bit of "fullness" feeling

Think about trying to break the movie = food association. It’s mindless snacking we don’t need. You aren’t even enjoying the food experience.
We can make it through 2-3 hours without eating.

If still on liquid you could take the squeeze bottle applesauce, I believe it is unsweetened.

Ppdunn22192 reacted to Starfish23 in 3 wks post- food getting stuck
I am 3 weeks post op. Whatever I eat, which is Soup, baby Cereal, pudding, etc. feels blocked at about 2 or 3 teaspoons. Then I get the foamies, then I throw up. I can’t get any liquid to stay down bcus it’s feels blocked. It comes back up. Protein Drinks are a catalyst for throwing up. I just can’t. So I feel like I’m dehydrated and starving. It’s a challenge to take my antacid pill. Sometimes it feels like it slides down. Other times it feels like it’s stuck sideways and then the day is done. I get the foamies and whatever I try to eat or drink comes back up. Then I think maybe the opening is too small. The scale isn’t moving much either. I am leaving on a trip to Europe at end of July for 2 weeks and I would love to be able to actually eat something and not have to vomit. Im looking to see if anyone else experienced this and is there light at then end of this tunnel soon?

Oh, I hope you don't experience dumping. Tomato Soup does it to some of us. That seems like a terrible choice for them to serve you. Hopefully you're fever is down, BP back up and you're on your way home soon.
