  1. It isn’t a matter of the carbonated beverage having calories or not. The issue is that the carbonation will stretch the stomach regardless of the calories in the drink. Why risk stretching your stomach when you’ve gone through all this to reduce the size of your stomach???
  2. Honestly, I feel absolutely normal. I’m following an eating plan my surgeon’s office gave me and it’s going great.
  3. I’m surprised your surgeon’s office didn’t give you more guidance on your food intake. I’m attaching an image of two meal plans for you. One is “full liquids” for days 2-7 and the second one is “puréed foods” for days 8-14.
  4. My RNY bypass was June 14 (3 days ago). I was given narcotic painkillers immediately after surgery,, but afterward, I was given 500 mg of Tylenol every 6 hours and I’m absolutely pain free.
  5. After surgery, you will have to permanently cut out ALL bubbly beverages, regardless of their calorie count.
  6. So far, no dumping! Fingers crossed!
  7. OK, so today is my second day post-op. I was advanced to full liquids, meaning yogurt, skim milk, cream soup, and watered down cream of wheat. So far, the food is staying down with no problem. I was supposed to be discharged today, but yesterday afternoon I developed a fever of 100.4 and chills, and my blood pressure dropped to 102/48. They’re monitoring my temperature and BP today and I expect to go home tomorrow. I’m not experiencing any pain at all. (I fully expected to be pretty miserable, but I’m not!) All of my food is being served in tiny 2 ounce cups. I’ll add a photo of today’s lunch (tomato soup and skim milk).
  8. I used to live in PW County. The Dunn side comes from MD.
  9. I had my bypass surgery yesterday, June 14! I feel amazingly well today. I get to graduate to beef broth Crystal light, and sugar-free Jell-O. I expect to be discharged tomorrow, June 16.
  10. I’m SO excited! My surgery (RNY bypass) is tomorrow morning!
  11. I have BCBS Federal and it took 7 days to get my approval.
  12. Here’s my advice: Date someone who didn’t know you before your weight loss! A man who only sees the NEW you. A SECURE guy who isn’t threatened by your attractiveness.
  13. I have a friend who lost about 40 pounds of the 100 pounds she wanted to lose. She and her husband went to visit her parents and she was very careful to cut a small slice of pie and only eat one piece. Her husband told her just eat the rest of the pie, because “you know you’re going to gain all the weight back anyway.” He told her this constantly this to discourage her from losing more weight. He felt more secure with her being overweight. Maybe your husband is insecure?
  14. Just the advice I needed to hear!! Thanks so much!
  15. My surgery is in 9 days and I’m on the 16-day liver-shrinking diet. I followed the diet perfectly for the first 5 days, but for 3 days in a row now, I have eaten fast food (in addition to my protein shakes). HELP! I need support!
  16. June 14! I’m currently on day #4 of my 16-day pre-op diet. Day #15 is liquids only.
  17. Yes, it’s a supervised weight-loss program. Mine was 4 months with Federal Blue Cross.
  18. I’m on day 4 of my pre-op diet: One IMPACT shake (from the surgeon’s office) , 2 Premier Protein shakes (chocolate is my favorite), plus 1 Lean Cuisine meal (must have at least 20 grams of protein) plus 72 ounces of water. (For me, the water is the most difficult part.)
  19. I am scheduled for RNY bypass on June 14, 2018. Currently, I’m on day four of my pre-op diet. So far, so good!
  20. Im beyond excited! I’m scheduled for the RNY gastric bypass on June 14. Tomorrow (May 29, 2018) I begin my 16-day pre-surgery liver-shrinking diet. So stoked!
  21. My RNY gastric bypass is scheduled for June 14, 2018. I started at a 40 BMI six months ago, and now am at 38. I’m not supposed to go below a 35 BMI prior to surgery.
