    DC Support groups?

I go to one in chesapeake and they also have one in Newport news. Not up by DC but it's just once a month. The nutritionist chooses the topic and we let her take over and then people can input comments or she'll ask people to share if they'd like. Very calm and collected. Once or twice a year there's something called open forum where there's no topic planned, it's more free for all with sharing. But we've had personal trainers come in, a plastic surgeon and they'll also have samples everynow and then! Dm me if you're interested!

    First NUT visit.

I had the same issue. I was initially told to avoid carbs. But I was so nauseous about a week out from surgery they said it may be ketosis making me sick. So I added in some carbs, that helped a bunch. They recommended going back to low carb, so I did for about 2 months and then I had issues with my blood sugar dropping and me being really tired. We did blood work and vitamins were normal. It ended up I was just burning through everything. I workout 5 days a week and am a nursing student in clinicals so I don't stop moving. [emoji28] but we added in a little carbs. I don't count fruit or veggie carbs and limit others to 20g a day. I'm 9 months post op and down 95 lbs. I'm not complaining. BUT I don't recommend anyone changing it up without consulting their nutritionist first. Everyone is different and has different food triggers.

    How old were you when?

20, wanted to do it when I was 16 but had no support and wasn't really ready for it mentally. I tried naturally for a few years, got down about 50lbs then weight went back up. Finally got in the program and worked on slowly changing habits for about a year. Didn't have any support still so I did it secretly and told family once I had my surgery scheduled. They finally came around and now I'm 9 months out, have family support and my brothers actually going through the program. Wouldn't have changed anything [emoji4][emoji4]

GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+<br /> +

Hey! I started at 355 (atleast that's how much I was when I finally had the courage to step on the scale!) Got down to 326 for surgery. I'm 8 months post op and weighed in at 233 yesterday! I had the sleeve. Went from 4xl scrubs to an xo with room! I struggle with food choices sometimes still, but that's part of the journey. I'm hoping to hit goal at 1 year post op. I'm aiming for 190! I'm 5'7

    Post your progress pics!

I'm 5'8 heaviest weight was 355 and surgery weight was 322. I just hit 6 months post op with the sleeve and am a little over 80lbs down! Current weight is 239! Hope this helps, good luck!

    7 months post op

Good job!! Im 6 months out. I also had low b1 and iron but it was at my 3 months appt. I got the bariatric advantage iron and b1 (which is hella expensive) but at my 6 month appt all my labs are back to normal! I just hit 80lbs down from surgery. Best decision ever.

    Down 102 lbs!

I'm 5 months post op tomorrow! I finally hit my first major goal of 100lbs down. This is including what I lost before surgery. I started last January (2017) at 355.2lbs, this morning I was 253lbs! Not sure what my goal weight is yet, as Ive been heavy my entire life, so I don't know what's a good weight for me. I think I'm aiming for the 180's! Just a reminder to trust the process, and enjoy the little NSV's and not just the scale. I had a month long stall last month and I hated it. I tried everything and turns out I wasn't eating enough! Good luck to everyone, feel free to share stories or pictures! Total loss=102lbs Loss since surgery= 68lbs (5 months post op) [emoji1]

    Stalling for over a month???

Thanks anyways! I'm trying to stay away from the scale and just keep doing what I know is right! I know it'll eventually start moving. Thanks for the hugs!

    Stalling for over a month???

Thanks, I hope it breaks soon too! I just bought a new Journal so I'll definitely be doing that starting today. I guess I'll sign up for one of the high-intensity classes at the YMCA and maybe switching it up like you said will work.
  10. Hi guys. So I'm getting really frustrated with my weight. I know stalls are completely normal, and I've dealt with a few before this one. I was 4 months post sleeve on the 11th. My weight has moved up and down the same 2lbs since the end of march. I've upped my water intake, increased exercise, and I'm hitting my protein goals and nothing is budging! I've had stalls that were like 1-2 weeks but nothing like this. And all my nutritionist says is to make sure to hit protein and water goals and I'll be fine. Apparently not [emoji36] they also don't give us a calorie range so I don't know if I'm not eating enough. I feel like I am? I'm around 800-1000 calories depending on the day. Sorry, I just needed a place to rant. It sucks putting in so much work and not seeing any changes! Especially because it had been going well before.
  11. Looking great! Don't you feel amazing? We had the same surgery date and surgery weight!! Great progress!
