First of all, the decision to have surgery is all yours. It doesn't fall on your family, friends, etc. The success of the surgery is also all on you. You have to be both mentally and physically ready to make and accept the changes that are about to happen, understanding that the weight did not come on overnight and it will likely not be lost overnight as well.
I had my surgery in the US, but I've read plenty of successful posts from those that have had their surgeries in the Mx. Whether you have surgery in the US or Mx there will be fears and worries associated with it. It's natural. Making sure you set yourself up for success after surgery is key. Find a support group that you can join and have some people to speak with prior to and post surgery for additional support. You have a whole online family of support as well.
Whatever you choose, remember there are people behind you supporting you.

I cashed out a 401k to pay for my revision. I figure I am preparing for my future a different way plus my hubby has a great retirement package for us to live on when were old!

Thanks so much to everyone that responded! The advice is great! I know I'll have fun, my doctor said to "take it easy" when it comes to rides but I think that I'll have fun even though I won't be able to go on a lot (lol at least I have a good reason to not go on the Tower of Terror!) And, I'll make sure to get a scooter or wheelchair when I get there just because I'm typically in a constant state of discomfort and wouldn't want to push myself too hard (YAY for handicap line access).
We're heading there tomorrow and it's going to be awesome thanks to all of the great advice!

Oh how fun but I would recommend renting a scooter over a wheelchair they are easier to navigate in the parks. I have had to use one the last two times I visited WDW and let me tell you it was the difference between being miserable and having a great time. At two weeks out your body is still dealing with the shock of surgery and the recovery process, your energy level will most likely be low and the scooter can help with finishing the day plus it can be hard to find a place to sit down and with the scooter you always have a place to sit and rest. I cannot tell you how much the scooter saved my life at WDW. Oh another thing you can ask for Water at any quick serve restaurant and they will give you a free glass of water! Good Luck and have a great time!

Sorry about this long post...I have an annual pass for Disney and the eating is going to be tough unless you have reservations at restaurants. Dine in restaurants have more options such as Soup, etc. Quick dine options have mostly sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs that type of food. I would definitely have Protein Shakes on hand and plenty of Water. This time of year usually has beautiful weather with high temps around 80 but it will be cooler in the evening. There will be a LOT of walking involved, so if you aren’t feeling so good I would rent a wheelchair. They are available to rent at the front of the park. For rides, I would go with the People Mover, Carousal of Progress, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Small World, Ariel’s ride (can’t remember the name of it) and Peter Pan. I was going to say Haunted Mansion but there is one part where you ride backwards and it might press on your stomach too much and Buzz lightyear is a little Jerky. The decorations are beautiful! It’s my favorite time of year to visit the Magic Kingdom. Hope you have a fantastic time!

Grammylulu reacted to Peggy D in Had Sleeve 3 yrs ago and now being offered DS - What to do?
The sleeve can stretch. Mine did although it still only held about 4 ounces. I had a "pouch test" x-ray where I ate a measured amount of food with radio-opaque material added.
Even though the vast majority of the stretchable portion of your stomach is removed in a sleeve gastrectomy, there still is some left.

Hello there! My highest size was a 30/32 and 5x. I'm now an 18 and 2x drifting into 16/1x. Fall is coming and I'm broke and in desperate need of a fall wardrobe, so it's time to sell these larger sizes! And because I need to do it quickly, I'm willing to let them go for pretty low prices. My style is trendy and modern and the conditions range from like new and barely touched to gently used. I do have some used things but I'm willing to throw those in a bag for one set price or something. All prices are negotiable. I just need to sell quickly! I'm located in southern Maryland and am willing to ship for an agreed price. Please just let me know what you are looking for and I probably have it lol or you can message me on Facebook/Mistydawn.krater Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you!!!

Grammylulu reacted to TerraJo in Anyone use Dr Carlos Altamirano Cano in TJ?
Had a video call with him the other day and he seems like a nice dr, knowledgeable, 4000+ surgeries under his belt. But all the posts I've seen about Mexico none of them are with him. Just worried I should be looking at other Drs more?
Any info would be helpful. Thank you!!

Grammylulu reacted to Vtoney91108 in Does anyone have problems with Absortion of SSRI with VSG and DS
Hello! So what I found out is that there might be a small less absorption than with my first surgery. I asked for the 25mg tab for after my surgery and I am on 225mg a day. I am able to take them since the surgery. All is well with my anxiety bit I will have to tell you the recovery is not easy for me because it was a revision for me. I would just make sure your Dr. Know that you may need the smaller mg so you don't have to crush them.. the only way I was able to handle the crushed was in sugar free pudding at the hospital...
