  1. YES!!! I've been struggling for a month or so now.... My doc and nut wanted me to eat at certain times during the day.... I started that and gained 5 lbs.. but my body adjusted and I lost about 12-15... I keep going back to not eating until late afternoon or skipping Breakfast... I have 2 months to get it together!! I will probably have my sleeve done Dec 22 or 26... I'm excited, but also disappointed that my focus is off... I keep telling myself to take it one day at a time and change one thing at a time... I believe we will be fine.. This journey takes a lot, physically, emotionally and ever other -ally!!!
  2. Thanks for posting!!! I'm very encouraged to finish my pre-op strong!!! It's been a little difficult, but I'm more motivated right now!!!
  3. WOW!! Amazing!! Congrats!!! I really needed to see this this morning!!!!
  4. I've gotten some negative feedback (from a friend and one of my sisters)... this was my response... "I'm not seeking validation, agreement or permission... This is very important to me and a tool that I'm using to help win the battle with my obesity... If I loved someone, I'd much rather see them using everything at their disposal to improve their quality of life, regardless of how I feel about the tool that they are using... Most importantly, I told you because I value our relationship and thought that I could count on you for support... i've made my decision and if you want to share in my journey to wholeness and wellness GREAT, if not, that's your choice..."
  5. Thanks for sharing.. I'm so sorry for everything that has happened.. CONGRATS on your weight loss and engagement!! Sometimes life happens... All we can do is get back in there and not beat ourselves up... I haven't been sleeved yet, but I utilize this site to keep me motivated to working towards getting there... I'm sure almost everyone has had a period where they stopped doing what works.. but, you have accomplished a lot in almost a year, don't diminish that!!... You are in my prayers and thoughts!!!
  6. Awesome!!! Congrats on your upcoming surgery!!! Best of luck and blessings!!!
  7. WOW, that is awesome!!!! Congrats!! I can hardly wait until Dec.!!!
  8. I haven't been sleeved yet, but my WL doctor prescribed it for me last month.. I'm doing (supposed to be at least) 250mg daily.. It supposedly reduces hunger, carb cravings and help control excess insulin production... It makes me a little nauseous, so, I don't take it like I should.. hence very slow pre-sleeve weight loss..
  9. Thanks for your responses.. I guess my problem is that they actually think I will get the "big head" when my big body is gone!!! I think it says something about when they think of me now... I don't know... It's crazy!!!... I never thought this decision would cause so may other people have such vehement opinions and such!! I told my friend that she'd better be quiet before I donate all my clothes to good will instead of giving them to her!!! LOL!
  10. Awesome, awesome AWESOME!!! I'm so happy things are working out for you!! You look amazing!! And I know the move and fresh start will be all that you anticipate it to be and more!! BTW, I think I'm going to buy a sewing machine!!! You give me some inspiration!!.. Keep your head up SIS and keep up the good work!!! Proud of you!!
  11. So, I was talking to my sister and a good friend of mine... They kept saying over and over... You're going to be soooo different.. You're gonna change.. We won't know WHO you are!!! I'm trying to understand and not be offended by what they're saying.. I know that dramatic weight loss and actually having a viable tool to deal w/ obesity and food addiction will change me my appearance, mindset and lifestyle.. but there are talking like I'm going to "come out of the box" with some new stuff.. It's almost like they are saying VSG will change my attitude and stuff for the worse... I'm a very giving, open and positive person.. but I was a little hurt by both of them harping on how I may not want to hang out w/ this person or that group of people anymore... I probably won't like to do this or that anymore... Heck, am I getting a brain, personality and total attitude implant/makeover or something?? Am I being too sensitive about this?? How much have your personality, attitude, friends, etc. changed since being sleeved or started the process towards being sleeved.. Oh, my sister also told me that I would probably have to see a therapist for years, to learn who I am all over again!! LOL.. (I told her I already see one, she's great and I know and like who I am now... I just want to be healthier!!!) Signed, A little irritated, but so excited!!!

  13. Hey Sunny!!! I hope things are better today!! Girl, we all go through those times.. I haven't been sleeved yet... but I'm struggling w/ exercising like i need to... Each day I'm trying to do more.. walking down the stairs at work instead of using the elevator... actually parking in my garage and walking around to enter my condo through the front... I understand about the whole emotional roller coaster relationships can be too.. LOL.. part of me can hardly wait to get sleeved, lose a bunch of weight and then see my ex at our class reunion!! LOL.. Then I think about it... this has nothing to do w/ him or one of my other friends who is really against me having surgery... It's about knowing that I'm worth the hard work, dedication and discipline that it will take to attain and maintain a healthy weight... (But I am going to look FLY on our reunion cruise!! LOL)... Keep your head up!! It's excellent that you are self-reflective.. Remember, you have someone in Chicago rooting for you!!!

  17. So, take a deep breath.... and exhale!!! Since you recognize self-sabotage, you can do something to combat it!! You will be fine.. Fear is a very powerful emotion that could paralyze you if you allow it to... You deserve a better and healthier life.. You deserve a great future... Even if you have to repeat this to yourself if you need to.. You deserve a great life!!!
