  3. Awesome job!!! You are beautiful!! Keep up the good work!!
  4. I'm not sleeved yet, but I have the Mirena IUS... Several other ladies who are sleeved have them as well.. I believe there's a thread in the "Ladies powder Room" about it... I love my Mirena and I'm a LOTTA upset that my surgeon wants me to remove it before surgery!!.. The placement is not bad at all...
  5. Awesome!!! Very encouraging!! Congrats and keep up the good work!!!
  6. Cowgirl, I understand.... I hope that both of us have the "it's all good".. process w/ the sleeve and that in 10 years... we're still successful!!!
  7. I haven't really seen the level of rude and insulting remarks from sleevers here... There are a few people, very few, who may come across a bit judgmental and preachy, but they don't post that much.. For the most part, I've had public and private conversations about struggles, challenges and issues w/ VSG without feeling like people were trying to blame, shun or discredit me or anyone else who was having an issue. I guess for me, I've made my decision... it's a well-researched and informed one.. NO ONE, especially someone I don't know personally, can make me feel bad about that or make me question my decision.. Every thing, and I mean every thing has it's pros and cons... VSG is no different.. we just have to have faith that we won't be a part of that small percentage w/ complications and if we are, that we recover and have a better quality of life that doesn't include obesity and the illnesses that come w/ it...
  8. Welcome!!! I'm still waiting on a final date.. but, hopefully Dec 22 or 26!!.. Congrats!!

  18. I know!! This were per his nurse.. and he said based on his experience... I as adamant about getting an answer directly from my surgeon, so he emailed him our email exchange.. I hope to know something soon... I'm hopeful that I can keep it in... Thanks for responding!!
  19. So, I went to my WL doc last night.. He asked me how I was faring w/ my Mirena that was placed in Feb... Told him I absolutely love it!!! Then I asked if I would need to take it out.. He replied that it was up to my surgeon.. So, i emailed the RN who works directly w/ my surgeon to inquire.. He thinks it will have to come out 2 weeks prior to surgery!!! !!! And I can possibly have it replaced in 3 months... So, my issues w/ this are: I got Mirena to stop my excessive bleeding (I bleed to the point of almost needing a blood transfusion.. got a D&C instead..) I gained weight when I got Mirena placed and I don't want to go through that again I was a RAVING maniac for 2 weeks after it was placed.. I don't think my students/friends or strangers can survive this again... I don't think my insurance will pay to have it placed again.. I DO NOT, I repeat, I DO NOT want to have to deal w/ my period while I'm recovering from surgery!!!! I get very ill, mean and not to mention I can't go ANYWHERE for fear of bleeding all over the place!!! So, how many of you ladies had mirena when you got sleeved??? Were there any issues or extra precautions that you had to take?? Somebody, anybody... tell me SOMETHING!!!!
